Chapter Twenty-Two
Ryan insisted on staying in the room. He needed to know what evidence Lara Webster was going to present. It was all in vain. Detective Hopkins was adamant that he could not remain in the room during the deposition and that he only listened to the three of them together, because he thought that a confrontation between the witnesses would be valid for the investigations - which turned out to be true.
After refusing Ryan's request, Hopkins promised that if he had news about the case he would look for him - as well as Mandy's family - and directed Lara Webster into the room and closed the door. Firmly. An indication that he was very serious and did not want to be interrupted.
