Chapter Nineteen
Ashley went into the bathroom followed by Cheryl, who locked the door so no one would enter. Her friend had persuaded her to help her give Mandy a "scare", something for her to rethink her presence at Brown... and consequently in Ryan's life. Cheryl was used to her friend's snobbish, selfish way. In the beginning, when they met in the first days of school at the university, she had been feeling a little uncomfortable with her manner. But Ashley was admired, desired and envied by everyone, which convinced her that there was nothing too much about her way of being. She was like that, she always said when her friend hurt her with some mean comment.
