Later at night on the floor of my old room, I counted all my play money after Topher and I had just finished two rounds of Life. He’d won the first one, and I suspected he’d win again after observing his stacks of money a bit more. As I reached the end of my last stack and announced my final amount, I was startled by his slapping his last stack. “Bam, won again!” Topher got up and stretched with a triumphant smirk. I rolled my eyes and set down my stack. I got up to stand in front of him. “You always win every round.” I formed a playful pout. “Hey, you win sometimes.
