A hero’s departure

233 Words
The sky grew dark as the time for her execution grew near. She couldn’t believe these people actually thought she had murdered their king ,after everything she had done for this kingdom. All the blood she had spilled for them she felt like such a fool .she began to remember her past, she should have just stayed where her mother asked her to and not run off to find her paint set and get herself sold to be a killing machine for selfish kings . No one would believe she was just a child when king Edward was murdered how could she have plunged a knife in his heart was she really a monster? Maybe she deserved to die for all the lives she had cut short all the people she had stolen their fathers from them just by abiding to Alexander’s rules ,maybe be she was to blame? She couldn’t stop herself from thinking of Ezra he would think she was a killer and was probably just going to kill him too.The mere thought of that made her want to stab herself right then and there but she had reached the site of her death and there was no reason for her to struggle .her head had been placed in the Guillotine and she awaited the sweet embrace of death more than anything. She had suffered enough and now she would finally be free.
