Jumping to her feet, she shouted out, "Everything will be fine? That woman killed our parents, and she gets to walk into our home?"
My hands before me, I explained, "There was nothing I could..."
Interrupting me, she said, "They could come and kill us tonight or even right now. Oh, my goodness! We are done for." Turning to Aunt Lena, she asked, "Shouldn't we begin to pack our things? Ian can come with us, right? I mean, we have to leave town, don't we?"
Letting out a chuckle, I said, "You are being paranoid. If their aim was to kill us, they have had our entire lives to do so."
Now prancing around the centre table, Rachel continued, "We can't rely on them not coming to kill us. That's what's bloody nuts. We have to leave here and we have to do it now."
