EMILY As I stumbled on my words, not even sure of what to say, I sensed his energy again, this time it came directly at me and then ushered within me what felt like the mother of all blasts. Not that it needs saying but, well, I have had better feelings. Then I blacked out. Or died. You take a pick. Groggily opening my eyes, I saw him, staring back at me, but this time it was no witchy-preserved memory. He was actually before me, staring back with lit eyes as he saw I was now conscious. And even more shockingly, he had saved me. I knew it the very moment I set eyes on him. I had gotten stuck after what I now knew was a failed casting of the internal connector, and that energy that pulled me out of it was his. Did I mention he was like, very handsome? Yeah, I think I covered that part.
