EMILY Curiosity piqued, I questioned, "What changed your mind?" "Nothing. I was nearly eighty when I left, now I'm nearly ninety. I could fall to the ground right now and die, and everyone will agree that I have lived a long life, right?" He paused, tried to clear his throat but ended up coughing for a while. I tried to get him some water, but he gestured for me not to worry. Continuing, he stated, "But now I'm here, so when I die, I will be buried here, where my parents and their respective parents before them were buried." We chatted for a while before I left because Jonathan called me that he was at my house and needed to speak to me. Okay, I had expected this. He was going to ask me about those days I couldn't see him. I knew he hadn't believed whatever Aunt Lena had told him.
