Jasmine Pov
The tension in the air was palpable I was thinking of every possible way to make her understood me, I knew my mother in law planned as always been a way to get in between us and scattered us from each other, it's been a week now but still Rose action were still ice and colds as she is bent on us getting devorce, one day when I entered the living room, my eyes traced over to the scattered papers on the table.
There I saw the divorce papers already signed with Rose's bold signature, it was a hurting sight to see as the stroke of her pen ending our marriage with a single flourish.
I stood there in silence holding the paper, the weight of her decision pressing down on me like a mountain as I could feel the endingof our shared history echoing through the empty rooms, the memories that was used to brought us joy now tinged with nothing but sorrow.
my fingers were trembling on the dark written ink slightly, i was filled with emotion of anger, my heart filled with sorrow, and I regret everything as they all packed together together in my own tapestry of pain.
Despite the vitriol that always came from my mother in law tongue, I knew she never accepted me as she always aim her words with squarely at my heart like a poisoned arrow, I had always thought and with hope that our love would prevail.
I always see every insult, every barb, as a test that I had to passed with a quiet resignation, I knew that my feelings for Rose were the balm to soothe my wounded spirit.
But I couldn't believe that despite my enduring patience and devotion, it still not enough. In the end, all my efforts were met with futile, as I received a cold rejection from her.
I took in a deep breath, I steeled myself against the tide of memories that overwhelm me, and let the papers fall back onto the table with a rustle of finality that already cleared that the marriage is over.
I gathered the tattered remnants of my composure,I saw her coming out of the bathroom I reach out to her,
"Rose, can you please belive me " I tried to find a way to bridge the chasm that had opened between us.
But the way her response was were as cold and unfeeling as the winter wind.
"There's no reason to lie, I already know this would happened," she said, her voice laced with contempt.
"Just because of my lack of interest in s*x, I never thought you would resort to such degradation. How could you even contemplate betraying me with my own family?" She said and I could feel sadness In her tone.
I tried reexplaning to explain that the accusations were nothing more than a twisted fantasy orchestrated by my her mother , but she maintained the stony stare and I know she would never believe.
"There's nothing more to say, Jasmine. The deed is done. The marriage is over."
Her words were sharp and final, like the closing of a tomb door. "There will be no reconciliation. I will never forgive you."
As I watched her brusheeld shoulder past me , I felt lonely with the deafening silence of an empty house and a broken heart.
I stepped into the grand foyer, the opulent chandelier above the house casting a brilliant glow, I also signed the paper. I decided to made the difficult decision to leave this grand estate, and the family that came with it behind. With a deep breath, I was ascending the stairs, my footsteps echoing off the marble floors.
I pack my belongings and as I began to methodically pack my luggage, the sound of zippers and rustling clothes filling the silence.
As I descended the stairs, I was met with the sudden presence of my ex-mother-in-law, her eyes filled with joy like she just won a battle, Rose cousin was beside her, I couldn't read her expression too well, the butler, Mr. Jenkins, stood at attention, his eyes fixed on me.
I stood tall, my shoulders squared, as I faced the trio. "Goodbye," I said with my steady voice, though my heart was filled with anger.
I faced my ex mother in law. "I won't be coming back., you finally won"
The silence that followed was deafening, I turned to leave, my luggage wheels rolling across the floor.
As I turned to take my leave, the butler's grasp on my arm tightened, I knew he was acting on the order my mom in law.
"Won't you compensate the girl for the suffering you've caused her?" he demanded, his eyes burning like someone been possessed.
I tried not to react and just leave with silence, but the butler wouldn't relent. His gaze fell upon the small pouch of the marbles in my pocket, he glared at them.
"What's this?" he speak beneath his tone, reaching for the pouch.
I tried to subtly move away as I didn't want any trouble, but he was so adamant as he grabbed my arm again.
"Let go!" I warned silently, trying not to be offensive.
But the butler was relentless as he was so determined. He snatched the pouch from my pocket and pulled out a the marbles in it, his eyes filled with malice. I tried hard to retrieve them from him, but he intentionally dropped them on the floor, and grinded them with his heel. I watched the marbles shattered into pieces, I couldn't help but watched their dark power dissipating into the thin air.
My heart raced with panic and the only thing that came to my mind is my dying uncle, without this marbles, I will find locating the rare herbs to save his life nearly impossible. The butler's cruel smile pushed me over the edge and made boiled from within. With a fierce cry, I punched him squarely in the jaw, my fist connecting with a satisfying crunch.
The butler's cruel smile pushed me over the edge and made boiled me from within. With a fierce cry, I punched him squarely in the jaw.
The screams and pleas of my ex-mother-in-law and cousin fell on my deaf ears as I unleashed my fury me.
But then, i heard a sudden scream "He's not breathing! Oh God, he's not breathing!"
My rage-fueled haze finally dissipated, and I froze as I turned to see the butler lying motionless on the floor, his face was filled with blood.
I ran out from the gate unto the street, I ran with a great speed.
A car came running with heavy speed, its tires screeching as it swerved hard to avoid me in every way. I tried to leap out of the way, but it was too late. The vehicle struck me with a sickening thud, sending me flying through the air.
I felt my body arcing through the sky. I landed with a bone-jarring crash on the hard ground, my vision started blurring
As I lay there on the floor I saw two beautiful women in a club dress attire, " He's not moving, has he died", one of the lady said and suddenly my eyes closed as everything went black.
