Finally, the man turned around and it turn out to be Mr. Lexon, the chairman and the heir of J-Hope business group, the multi billion business company in the city. His expression was so welcoming, he smiled at me as he gestured me to take a seat. "You can have your seat," Mr. Lexon said, his voice was calm and commanding. As i sat down, my eyes was fixed on the desk. "What's the reason why I'm here?" I asked, my voice was firm. He smiled, " I firstly want to address the issues about last night and you might be bothered while I'm going through all this, every one know about J-Hope group, it has ran from generation to generation, there are many people or bloggers outside there who wants to find a way to bring down the company, I can't allow any stains, therefore, we've prepared a little proposal for you, we're willing to compensate you with a sum of $50 million...in exchange for your silence." My eyes widened and filled wuth shock as I stared at the file, my mind reeling with the implications. "What?" I asked in a very low tone. " the accident never happened," Atticus suddenly interjected, his voice firm and was so directive. "You never saw Calantha, and you never spoke to us. This file contains a non-disclosure agreement. Once you sign it, then the money will be yours." I still find it hard to understand the situation, "Does that mean this isn't the first time this has happened?" I asked again. Mr. Lexon's smile in a falter manner for a moment before he composed himself back. "Let's just say we've had...similar incidents in the past. And like I told you before, I have a name to protect" I sultood up from the chair, " I will sign the form, but I want one thing clear, first I am not taking your money and secondly, this will be our final meeting and you will never disturb bother me again. I also promise that no one will ever hear about this from me. The chairman eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he handed me the file. "Excellent choice, Jasmine." I took the pen and was about to sign " but can I really say something," I said, my voice steady and firm. " But do you think buying people with money to hide your flaws, by silence them is the best way?, I think you're wrong. The weight of your secrets the heavier it is will crush you, and the facade you've built might crumble, cause one day everything will later be exposed, you think you are making Calantha perfect, but you're suffocating her with your wealth and power. You're hiding her flaws, but you're also hiding her potential. And as for me, it might look like I'm warning you, the consequences of your actions will be so devastating." " I think you are missing something, have you ever tasted power before, it is then you will know how expenive it is to sought for perfection" Mr. Lexon said. I smiled in a cold and well calculated manner " but you forget, the higher you rise is the farther you will fall " I said as I dropped the pen, I head outside the room. Just as I reached outside the room, I came across Calanthia who was walking by, I brushed past her, then he said out suddenly, "I see you're also leaving with a heavier pocket" she said. I turned to face her, the pen still clutched in my hand. Her eyes were narrowed, she looked through me like a sharp blade. " To be truthful I didn't expect anything more from you. After all, everyone has a price." I didn't bothered to respond, I knew there is nothing I can say that will really moved someone like her, but just as she turned to leave, I noticed her body suddenly stiffened, with her eyes rolling back in her head. She collapsed suddenly to the ground, i was shocked as her limbs convulsing in a violent seizure. I rushed to her on the floor as she was convulsing on ground. "Calantha!" I shouted. I dropped to my knees beside her, my heart was racing with fear. I could see her eyes fluttered open, her gaze still unfocused and wild. When I noticed her imbalance I summoned my healing power as a soft, white light began to emanate from my hand, it envelopiled Calantha's body. The light grew brighter and brighter, until it was like a small sun shining in the room. Everyone including Me Lexon and Atticus rushed out of the office, shocked and amazed by what they were seeing. "Calanthia?" He screams from out in concerned tone. I didn't mind him then suddenly the light began to take shape, it formee a gentle, pulsing glow that seemed to be absorbing into Calantha's body. With that Her convulsions started getting slower untill it finally stopped, I watched her as she lay still, her eyes the closed. "What are you doing to my daughter?" Mr. Lexon asked, his voice full of awe. I didn't bothered to reply him as i continue with what I was doing. Just as the light finally entered her body, the convulsions stopped I gently lifted Calantha into my arms, cradling her like a young child as I carried her to a nearby chair. I sat down beside her i held her secured I asked for a cup of water. As I waited, I thinking on the actual cause of her convulsions "Status epilepticus," I said out is I known it is the only sickness theat is so severe and prolonged seizure that Calantha had just experienced. "It's a dangerous condition, requires immediate medical attention..." I said out suddenly The water arrived I gently lifted her head as I bring the cup closed to her lips. She sipped slowly, her eyes was till still dazed from the seizure. "You're partially treated now." I said to her. I stood up from her as I looked at Mr. Lexon, my voice was firmed and resolute. "She is under control for now, but this doesn't guarantee that she's fully cured, her condition is dangerous and she need immediate action but not with medicine. There is a named herb, 'Luminaria', that can cure her finally and It's the only way to save her." I took a step forward, as I was making my way out of the house Just as I was about to step out, then I heard the chairman's voice boomed loudly, "Lock the door!" He sounded so authoritative and commanding and just then the tension filled the room as the security started following the order as they started locking the door, the sound of locks clicking into place echoed through the room. I was getting scared as I suddenly looked back at Mr Lexon. Then he faced me and said "You're not going anywhere" You're going to stay here and do as I say. Or else..." To be continued!
