Alone in the gloominess of her lonely cell, Agnes wished that the darkness would just consume her and she would die.  She sat alone to think, and her mind conjured up terrifying ghosts from her past which haunted her at every minute. She could almost hear them, those terrible voices in her head whispering to her in the cold and empty darkness. Sometimes, it was like she could almost reach out and touch them.
