Chapter 3 Accidental Encounter

1095 Words
As Ivory entered the werewolf university, she glanced at the luxurious dormitory buildings but kept walking until she reached the old structure tucked away in a corner. Opening the door, she wrinkled her nose at the sight of empty cans and cigarette butts strewn across the room. "Honestly, this place is a mess," Ivory muttered to herself as she began picking up the garbage. Since her family's bankruptcy, she had been reassigned from a high-class dormitory to this rundown one. Despite the university's claims of inclusivity, there was a clear class divide among the students, with the wealthiest residing in luxury while the less fortunate, like Ivory, made do with less. After clearing away the litter, Ivory sighed and shook her head. "At least I can clean up my own space," she said, determined to make the best of the situation. Once the room was tidy, Ivory headed to the communal showers. As the warm water washed away the grime of the day, she felt a sense of renewal. Changing into fresh clothes, she squared her shoulders and left the dormitory. Ivory entered the busy set of the drama shooting, where she was cast as a mere passerby, her role insignificant in the production. Taking a seat in a quiet corner of the theater, Ivory observed the flurry of activity with detached interest. Despite her presence being largely unnoticed in the past, today was different. People began to approach her. "Hey Ivory, is it true that Osgar Wescotte really helped you?" Minerva asked eagerly, her eyes wide with anticipation. Linda chimed in, "What's it like being in Osgar Wescotte's arms? I bet it feels amazing." "I fainted and don't remember much," Ivory replied, not wanting to discuss the matter. Imelda interjected, "But Ivory, didn't Osgar Wescotte give you something as compensation for saving Olivia?" Some of the others leaned in, curious to know if Ivory now had Osgar Wescotte's contact information. But Ivory remaining tight-lipped. As the questions kept coming, Ivory's phone suddenly rang, interrupting the incessant chatter around her. She reached for her phone with a calm demeanor, unfazed by the persistent inquiries. Ignoring the curious gazes directed her way, Ivory glanced at her phone and saw several messages indicating audition invitations. The notifications served as a stark reminder of the influence Osgar had on her career, opening doors that had previously been closed to her. Amidst the flood of messages, Ivory noticed several missed calls from her aunt, a familiar figure of greed and manipulation in her life. Despite the persistent attempts to reach her, Ivory chose to ignore the calls, unwilling to subject herself to the toxicity of her aunt's demands. *** Upon returning to her university, Ivory's brow furrowed in annoyance as she encountered a throng of students milling about. Pushing through the crowd, she soon spotted a bustling event near the trampoline. As she drew closer, she realized it was the finals of the basketball tournament. As Ivory hurried past the basketball court during the halftime break, she noticed Timothy Cavill, the basketball team captain, calling her name using the microphone. Some female students nearby cast envious glances her way, knowing Timothy's popularity among the university crowd. The cheers of onlookers filled the air as Timothy's voice boomed over the speakers. "Hey, Ivory!" Timothy's voice echoed through the arena. "If we win this game, how about you become my girlfriend?" Ivory glanced at Timothy with a cold expression, “Are you the powerful alpha of the family? If not, don’t bother me again" Timothy's face flushed with embarrassment,He was from an ordinary background. Judging from his aura, he was either a Beta or a Gamma. Not an Alpha. As Ivory walked through her dormitory, Her phone vibrated softly, alerting her to a new post on Olivia‘s ins. It was a picture of their family dinner, everyone is clearly visible in the photo, Olivia, her mother Valerie, her grandfather Jerry, and Andrea, as well as Osgar's blurred side face. Just the side of Osgar's face in the photo also drew a lot of attention. Ivory clicked on the comments in the photo and saw the top comment. So the rumors are all true? Your brother and Andrea? Olivia replied: it was grandpa who invited andrea, I don't know, it depends on my brother. Ivory tapped the screen to add a like. Immediately , she received a message from Olivia "Hey, are you okay?" Olivia's message read. Ivory quickly replied, "Yes, I'm fine." Olivia responded, "I'm bored. Osgar didn't say a word during dinner and left early after getting a call from work, leaving Andrea alone." Ivory furrowed her brows and typed back, "Do you think Osgar wants to marry Andrea?" Olivia's reply came swiftly, "No, I don't believe so. Only our grandfather Jerry wants Osgar to have his Luna." Osgar was cold. In the marriages of these wealthy families, finding a mate is not their priority purpose, it is best if the mate of each other can strengthen each other's families, if not, then these wealthy people usually reject their mate or even just make them their s*x slaves, and mate with the ones with a good social standing. Their marriages were purely for profit. *** Olivia glanced at her phone, noticing Ivory hadn't responded yet. Contemplating calling her, Andrea approached with a snack. "Hey Olivia, want to come to my party? It's going to be a blast!" Andrea exclaimed, pulling out an invitation card. Olivia hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "Um, I don't know..." Valerie, Olivia's mom, intervened, taking the card from Andrea. "She'll be there on time. Who's going to be there?" "Oh, lots of important people! Especially my cousin Georgina. She's been dying to meet you," Andrea replied enthusiastically. Olivia sighed inwardly. She doesn't really like those high society parties. *** Inside her dormitory, Ivory mulled over Olivia's words about Osgar leaving their family dinner. Realizing she needed help, she quickly dialed her tech-savvy friend Angela for assistance. Ivory called Angela, "Angela, can you help me find out where Osgar is now?" "Of course, give me a few minutes." Ivory heard Angela tapping on the keyboard. "Hey, Ivory, Osgar booked a VIP room at the Westmont Hotel, are you going?" Angela replied "Yes, is there any way?" "Yes, I know someone who works there. I'll make sure you can get in." Ivory received Angela's friend's contact information on her phone. Ivory changed into more presentable clothes, applied a touch of makeup, and made her way out of her dormitory to hail a taxi to the Westmont Hotel.
