Zylia’s POV The silence stretched again, heavy as the mist between us. The barrier had quieted, its silver ripples soft now, faint like moonlight caught in water. I sat cross-legged on the grass, watching Killian through it. The distance between us felt both small and endless. He leaned forward slightly, resting his forearms on his knees. His eyes stayed fixed on me, like he was afraid that if he blinked, I’d vanish again. “You look different,” he said quietly. I gave a small, bitter laugh. “That’s what happens when you’re rejected under a blood moon and survive it.” He didn’t smile. “No, I mean… last time I was here, your eyes were violet.” I froze. Then, brushing my hair forward, I caught a faint reflection on the barrier’s glow. It wasn’t silver anymore. It was brown again…
