Chapter 7Duane Nelson wondered what Sydney was doing today. He was surprised to land another investigation from her former law office and thought about her. She'd called to tell him she and Judith filed a police report.
Apparently the local authorities hadn't gotten around to interviewing “the boss,” otherwise he'd figured out the probe stemmed from his initial investigation. Perhaps law enforcement was being selective with the information they released. That would be much better for the safety of Jones and Garner.
Once the dust settled from the case, he planned to ask Sydney out for dinner. She'd cooked for him a couple of times when they had meetings about the investigation. He'd like to do something nice and get to know her.
