Emilia's POV
Blood. It was all over.
Nikolas's life was evaporating too rapidly, and my hands shook as I applied pressure to his wound. His once-firm and warm skin had already begun to cool. A pallor, piercing my heart like a cold dagger, replaced the color of his face. My chest tightened, and my breath caught. My insides ached from the desperation. I had to keep him alive.
