Emilia's POV
The sound of the wind rustling through the trees is the only sound in the eerily quiet battlefield. As I see Lucian standing tall in the middle of the clearing, my heart thuds in my chest. His eyes are filled with something I can't identify—angry, sad, or determined? He appears to have carved his jaw out of stone. He embodies all three elements, and even more.
The pack is still and silent behind him, as if we're all waiting for something we don't want to see. However, Lucian's sole focus is on the Ash-Born, the brother he never expected to encounter. The Ash-Born is a creature of smoke, shadows, and silence, born from the deepest depths of their lineage.
