Layla Knight, a shy girl from a small town met Vincent Grange, an outgoing, energetic guy  in college on the first day of English class.  This was the first time Layla had been away from home. They were the total opposite from each other yet they became the best of friends from their freshman year until a kiss graduation night that caused the two to be apart for many years.  Vincent never forgot his first love and is determined to find her. Five years later, these old friends are brought back together at a charity ball. They both have been holding secrets for many years. Secrets of the heart will keep them apart. Secrets revealed will cause wounds not to heal.  There is no joy when you have to keep secrets from people.  When secrets come to an end, love may conquer all. Then again it may not. Will Layla and Vincent reveal their secrets to each other or continue to keep them hidden? Maia, a friend of theirs from college, also has a secret of her own that she needs to tell to clear some misunderstandings. Will she tell Layla the truth about why Vincent is at the community center?
