As weeks turned into months, Sophie and Kelvin's relationship blossomed. Sophie had never felt this way before. Kelvin was her first love. She felt alive when he was near, his smile lighting up her world. But deep down, Sophie knew her feelings for Kelvin were tangled with her desire to escape her family problems. Sophie's heart swelled with gratitude. One evening, as they strolled through the park, Kelvin turned to her. "Sophie, I love you," he said, his eyes shining with sincerity. Sophie's heart skipped a beat. "I love you too, Kelvin," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. But as they embraced, Sophie realized her feelings were complex. Was she truly in love with Kelvin, or did she just need a distraction? Was she using him to heal her broken heart? And she was just 14yrs ... But the doubts lingered, hidden beneath the surface. One day, Sophie's father reached out, wanting to meet. Sophie hesitated, unsure if she was ready to face him. Kelvin sensed her unease. "Sophie, I'm here for you," he said. "Whatever you decide." Sophie took a deep breath. "Alright,I will meet him," she said, steeling herself. Sophie's hands trembled as she texted her dad, agreeing to meet. Kelvin noticed her anxiety. "Hey, you okay?" Sophie nodded, trying to calm down. The meeting was set for the next day. That night, Sophie couldn't sleep. What would her dad say? Kelvin's reassurance echoed in her mind. "Sophie, I'm here for you." The next day, Sophie arrived at the café, Her dad was already seated, looking nervous. "Sophie, thank you for coming," he said, his voice hesitant. Sophie nodded, unsure what to say. "I'm sorry, Sophie," he continued. "I was wrong to leave. I love you." Sophie's emotions swirled. Anger. Sadness. Confusion. "I love you too, Dad," Sophie said, her voice barely above a whisper. Her dad's eyes welled up. "But am sorry I can't continue the relationship with your mom anymore ," he said. "Can we start over?" Sophie hesitated. Could she forgive? "What does starting over mean?" Sophie asked. Her dad took a deep breath. "Being there for you, listening, supporting...being a real dad and am getting a divorce with your mom so you could come live with me." Sophie thought for a moment. "Dad,why?," she yelled finally. "You brought me hear to make my heart break more than it is already." Maybe, just maybe, things could never get better. Was this a new beginning?or starting afreash you spoke about dad?..She queried with tears Or another disappointment? Sophie's tears streamed down as she processed her dad's words. "You want me to leave Mom and live with you?" Sophie asked, her voice shaking. Her dad nodded, his eyes filled with regret. "But why now?" Sophie demanded. "After all these months, you want me to abandon Mom?" "Sophie, I was wrong to leave," her dad said. "I want to make it right." "By breaking Mom's heart further?" Sophie spat, anger rising. Her dad's face contorted in pain. "I know it's complicated, Sophie. But I want to be a real dad to you." Sophie's tears fell harder. "You're doing this again, Dad. Hurting Mom, hurting me." "I won't leave Mom," Sophie said finally, her voice firm. Her dad's face fell. "Please, Sophie. Think about it." Sophie stood up, wiping her tears. "I have thought about it, Dad. My answer is no." , Sophie walked away, leaving her dad alone. As they stepped into the sunlight, Sophie felt a mix of emotions. Relief. Sadness. Determination. She knew she had to focus on her own healing. And Kelvin's love was her anchor. But could she truly trust her dad? ---
