Sophie navigated her new reality, still reeling from the custody battle. Victoria's constant presence made her skin crawl. One day, while exploring the mansion, Sophie stumbled upon a shocking sight. Victoria, cuddled up with a mysterious man, laughing and whispering. Sophie's eyes widened. This wasn't her dad. Who was this guy? Sophie crept closer, ears straining. "I love you, Daniel," Victoria cooed. Daniel? Who's Daniel? Sophie's mind reeled. Victoria was cheating on her dad. The betrayal stung. Sophie felt torn. Should she tell her dad? Or keep the secret? Kelvin's words echoed. "Always stand up for the truth, Sophie." Sophie made her decision. She marched back to her room, Sophie stormed into the living room, determination burning. "Victoria, we need to talk," Sophie said, her voice firm. Victoria looked up from her phone, a hint of guilt flashing. "What's wrong, Sophie?" Victoria asked, feigning innocence. Sophie's eyes narrowed. "I saw you with Daniel. I know you're cheating on Dad." Victoria's expression shifted from calm to panicked. "Sophie, it's not what you think," Victoria stammered. Sophie crossed her arms. "Don't lie to me. I heard you. 'I love you, Daniel'." Victoria's face crumbled. "Sophie, please understand. Your dad and I... we're complicated." Sophie's anger flared. "Complicated? You're cheating on him! Victoria stood, pleading. "Sophie, don't tell your dad. Please." Sophie shook her head. "I won't promise anything. You need to tell him." Victoria's eyes filled with tears. "Okay, Sophie. I'll tell him. But please, consider the consequences." Sophie's heart hardened. "You should have thought of that before cheating." Victoria's eyes pleaded with Sophie. "Sophie, I'll tell you everything. Just please, don't tell your dad yet." Sophie hesitated, curiosity winning. "Fine. Explain." Victoria took a deep breath. "I met Daniel years ago. We had a passionate relationship, but it ended badly. He was possessive, controlling... I thought I'd moved on." Sophie's eyes narrowed. "But you didn't." Victoria shook her head. "No. Daniel reappeared, and... old feelings resurfaced. I know it's wrong, but I feel trapped in this life with your dad." Sophie's mind reeled. "Trapped? You're living in a mansion!" Victoria's voice dropped to a whisper. "Your dad's not the man I thought he was. He's cold, calculating... only cares about his image." Sophie's eyes widened. "That's why you're cheating?" Victoria nodded. "I seek comfort elsewhere. Daniel makes me feel alive." Sophie felt torn. Should she pity Victoria or condemn her? Kelvin's words echoed. "Everyone has secrets, Sophie. But that doesn't justify hurting others." Sophie made her decision. "I'll keep your secret, Victoria. For now." But Sophie's mind whirled with questions: Sophie confided in Kelvin, sharing Victoria's secret. "Kelvin, I don't know what to do," Sophie said, anxiety creeping in. Kelvin listened attentively, his expression serious. "Sophie, this is complicated. But you did the right thing, telling me." Sophie nodded, feeling relieved. "What do I do now?" Sophie asked. Kelvin's eyes locked onto hers. "Stay vigilant, Sophie. Observe Victoria and your dad. See if you can uncover more." Sophie's determination grew. "I won't let them hurt anyone else." Kelvin smiled, reassuring. "I'm here for you, Sophie. Always." As they walked hand-in-hand, Sophie realized: Kelvin was her rock, her confidant. Together, they'd navigate this tangled web. Sophie's dad, James, stormed into the mansion, fury etched on his face. "Victoria, we need to talk," James thundered. Victoria's eyes darted to Sophie, panic rising. "Sophie, give us a minute," James ordered. Sophie hesitated, then left the room. James slammed the door shut. "Victoria, I know about Daniel," James growled. Victoria's composure crumbled. "James, please understand—" James cut her off. "Understand? You're cheating on me!" Victoria's tears flowed. "James, I'm sorry. I was lonely. James's expression hardened. "Lonely? You're lonely? After everything I've given you?" The argument escalated, voices rising. Sophie listened from the hallway, heart pounding. Should she intervene? Or let them clash? Kelvin's text arrived: "Hey, how's it going?" Sophie replied: "Dad found out. It's getting ugly." Kelvin responded: "Stay safe, Sophie. I'm here." Sophie took a deep breath. James's anger boiled over. "How long has this been going on?" James demanded. Victoria cowered. "James, please—" James cut her off. "Answer me!" Victoria stuttered. "A few months... I was weak." James's face reddened. "A few months? You've been lying to me for months?" Victoria pleaded. "James, forgive me. I love you." James scoffed. "Love? You call this love?" The shouting match escalated until James's voice echoed through the mansion. "Pack your bags. You're leaving. Now." Victoria sobbed, rushing to gather her belongings. Sophie watched, tears streaming down her face. Kelvin's text arrived: "Hey, how's it going?" Sophie replied: "Dad kicked Victoria out. It's a mess." Kelvin responded: "I'm coming over. Stay strong." Sophie felt a glimmer of hope. Kelvin was coming.
