Scott had been watching Williams closely, following him discreetly and staying just out of sight. When he saw Williams pull out his phone and read a message, Scott crept closer, his curiosity piqued.
From his vantage point, he managed to glimpse part of the message. "Williams help, I’m in a house on the mountain..." That was enough for Scott to piece together where Adeline was.
His heart raced. Adeline had somehow managed to get access to a phone. It was a breach in his meticulously laid plans.
