The atmosphere in Adeline's cozy living room was tense as William sat across from her, his expression serious yet gentle. Adeline fidgeted nervously, sensing that something important was about to be revealed.
"Adeline," William began, his voice steady but tinged with emotion, "there's something I need to tell you."
Adeline's heart skipped a beat, her stomach tightening with anticipation. "What is it, William?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Taking a deep breath, William looked directly into her eyes. "When you fainted at the wedding rehearsal, the doctor mentioned that you might be pregnant," he confessed, his words hanging heavily in the air.
