Ever since Scott visited Adeline's parents, they couldn’t shake the feeling that something was amiss.
They appreciated Scott’s visit and thought he might be a good man, but they sensed he was hiding something.
They decided to call Adeline to hear directly from her. Each attempt, however, went straight to voicemail. A week of silence only deepened their worry.
Mrs. Miller, Adeline’s mother, grew more anxious with each passing day.
She paced their living room, her mind racing with terrible possibilities. "Honey, we need to find her. Something's not right," she said, her voice trembling.
