Chapter 78: The Disappearance of Adeline
Some months ago.
Williams had just finished a crucial phone call and returned to the living room, expecting to find Adeline there.
When he didn’t see her, he assumed she might have gone upstairs to rest.
Not wanting to disturb her, he decided to wait until the evening to check on her. As night fell and it was time for him to go to bed, he went to her room to say goodnight.
To his surprise, the room was empty. Panic began to set in as he dialed her number, only to hear the automated message:
“The number you are trying to reach is currently unreachable.”
His thoughts immediately raced back to the time when Scott had abducted her. Fear gripped him, and without wasting any time, he dialed Scott's number. The line was unreachable.
