Rosalie’s POV.
Rosalie lay still in bed, her eyes shut tightly as she listened to the faint sound of Scott's footsteps echoing through the room. She knew he was gathering his belongings, preparing to leave her once again. A pang of sadness washed over her, but she remained motionless, feigning sleep.
As the door clicked shut behind him, Rosalie's heart sank. She resisted the urge to open her eyes, knowing that if she did, she might catch a glimpse of him walking away from her, perhaps for the last time.
