As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city streets, Adeline found herself eagerly anticipating William's arrival. She had spent the day preparing for his visit, cooking up a special meal and tidying her home in anticipation of his company.
When the doorbell finally rang, her heart leaped with excitement. Hurrying to answer it, she was greeted by the sight of William standing on her doorstep, a warm smile playing on his lips.
