Trust people wisely

“You know you this place was always close to my heart,” she said sitting in front of the lake, wearing the same purple cloak she was wearing the last time. I walked slowly towards her, glancing nervously towards the forest on my right side. It was the same place where I first saw her, where she saved me from the ravens. “Do not worry they are not here to attack you today,” I could hear the amusement in her voice. “Are you ever going to give me answers instead of playing your ridiculous game?” She chuckled, “You have to find out the truth by yourself, when will you stop expecting people to do help you?” “So, you are here just to make fun of me. Look I already have enough things to worry about in my life, I don’t need you to complicate things for me.” She lifted her hand and put it in the water, “I am here to resolve the complications you are facing but I can not do anything until you let me.” “I am not stopping you from giving me some answers.” She did not respond but kept splashing water with her hands. “Who was the man I saw in my nightmares? He was different from the man I saw earlier,” I asked taking a seat next to her. “How do you know they both were different? You never saw the face.” I thought before answering, “There was a comfort around the man I saw first, there was something different, something familiar about him, but the guy I saw later, he was just a maniac.” “A maniac who threatened to kill you,” she added. “How do you know that?” I asked with surprise, I had never told anyone that. “I know things that you can never understand, I have seen things that you will never believe.” “Why should I trust you?” I asked, “how should I know you are not with that man? Or this is not one of his tricks.” “Ask your heart, one does not have to look at the face to know a person,” she replied softly. I stared at her silently, knowingly well I can not look at her face hiding under that long cloak. The air around her was different from the man in my nightmares, everything about her was screaming me to trust her blindly and follow everything she was saying. But it made me more confused and I decided not to say anything. “I can not help you any longer,” she said suddenly. I scoffed, “As if you are helping me so much right now.” I heard her sigh, “You are more foolish than I thought.” “Excuse me?” “Why do you think he never visits you when I am in your dreams?” she asked. I never thought about it in that way, it was the truth she was here but that man was not.  “How can he hurt me in my nightmares?” “Magic,” she replied as if it was obvious. “So a person is hunting me with a power that I have no idea how to fight against.” She turned her head towards me, “You just have to trust people wisely, do not make a decision of trusting someone blindly. Sometimes people can change colors too.” I stared at her with a loss of words. Who was she talking about? I only knew Lucius, Valeria, and Astrid here. Those people helped me how could I doubt them. Lily was like a sister to me, I could never doubt her. “What do you mean, you can’t help me anymore?” “The darkness is growing, making contact with you keeps getting harder every day.” “Are you a witch?” I asked. “No.” A flock of birds flew in the sky, the silent forest was no longer silent, the screeching filled the whole area with deafening noise. I closed my ears with my hands. But she was sitting there as if none of it was affecting her, she was still staring at the lake. Finally, everything became silent once again. “What was that?” I asked. “A visitor was trying to visit you.” I stared at the lake biting my lip nervously, I was in the mess and I did not know who to trust anymore. I was about to tell Valeria about my nightmares but after hearing her I was not sure if it was the right decision. With a sigh, I put my head on my knees, “Why me?” “You know the answer already.” She was right, I knew the answer. I looked like the dead queen, but I was hoping for a different answer. I had so many questions but I did not know what to ask her and if I should trust her or not. “Ask yourself that,” she replied. I looked at her with confusion, “You can read my mind?” “It is the time for you to go back.” “No, wait!” I stood up, trying to stop her. “Trust people wisely and be brave," were her last words before she stood up and walked towards the forest. Just after she left, a bright light circle appeared in the lake which kept getting bigger and bigger.
