“Are you angry with me?” She held my gaze, her eyes blazing with a mix of anger and anguish, before finally nodding. "Yes, I was furious. Maybe I thought you'd abandoned us. That you’d run away from the responsibility you had to Tali and me." Her voice cracked, her jaw clenched tightly as she fought back tears. "I know you were young. You deserved to be a kid too, to live without the weight of having to be both mother and sister to us…" She choked on her words, tears spilling over despite her effort to hold them back.
