CHAPTER 2

ISABELLA

Alright, it's settled that I suffer Insomnia too because of my Nightmares. I'm now awake for almost 2 hours. I have been awake since 3:18 A. M. now and it's 5:26 a.m. Instead of sleeping again lets go on a walk.

I got up from bed and brushed my teeth and took my phone and wrote a sticky note 'Going on a walk will bring Sandwiches for breakfast'. I played my favorite playlist. Guess which? Ding Ding . . . One Direction. I Love Them!

'Best Song Ever' and ' What makes you Beautiful ' are my favorite Songs. Damn, they are the best! Zayn Malik is my favorites. But I also have a crush on Harry Styles. My Grandma used to train me singing. She was a trained classical singer. So, I can sing too. At least. I guess. Yesterday I only had one lecture. Today is technically my first day as I have 5 lectures.

I have that butterflies feeling in the pit of my stomach. I feel like today that phase of my life is starting where it will be deciding to that business deal my Mom was leaning on. After classes I have a meeting with the well known businessman - Mr. Thorpe. They want me to provide coffee and snacks in there office canteen. This deal might change my entire life and as well as Mom's Cafe's future.

Mom named it 'Belle's cafe'. It was a gift from Dad after I was born as she used to get bored at home after I used to fall asleep. She was a working woman before I was born. Mom named it 'Belle's Cafe' because Dad used to say I'm beautiful just like my mom. And Belle means beautiful in Italian.

I just hope today goes well. After having a 40 minutes' walk. I grabbed sandwiches from a shop down the road. And headed home. After opening the door I heard Tess singing. She was definitely preparing Coffee. "Boo!" She yelped. "God Isabella, you scared me!" She said punching my arm.

"Sorry Tess, here sandwiches."

"Thank you. You are life saver. Did you had good sleep? " She said.

" Um . . . " She placed her hands on my shoulders.

" It's okay, Isabella. Everything will be okay. Why don't you go and see a therapist?" She suggested. " Tess, I know you love me and care about me" She nodded and I continued," But I tried remember? It doesn't work. Nothing worked after Grandma. And I don't want to take pills they make me feel sleepy and I hate taking them, it makes me feel like old granny. " I told her in a breaking voice. But chuckle at the end.

Tess leaped forward and hugged me tightly for a few minutes. " Oh, hun. It's alright. I got you." She whispers. I bury my face in her neck and sigh. We stay like that for like a solid two minutes.

"Can we get ready for school now? "I broke the silence. Tessa agreed and we both got ready and left. We reached the campus. I saw a lot of students on the campus more than yesterday. I got out of the car.

As I walked in the hallways, everyone who were whispering looked towards me. I felt everyone's eyes on me. A lot of girls were glaring at me. Boys were eyeing me top to bottom. Gosh, perverts.

Don't men think anything rather than s*x when looking at women?

"Damn these guys are gonna have a hard on now just looking at you Isa. " Tess whispered in my ear. I laughed. We went in. Dan came in my view and hugged me " s**t baby! Look at you. So hot! " he winked at me. I blushed. He chuckled. " God Dan stop. Isabella remember, Stay away from the guy I told you about." Tessa warned me. "Which guy? " Dan quirked his eyebrow.

"Enzo. I told her to stay away from him. " Tessa answered. Dan nodded and warned me the same. " Isa, you go ahead. I have to talk with Joe." Dan said. I nodded. We parted our ways and I went to class. The class filled and the seat beside me too.

" Hi. " a familiar voice chirped. I looked up to see Nicolas smiling at me.

"Hey," I greeted him.

"Should I call you Beautiful? Because you are. " and I blushed at his comment. "Aw you are so cute." He chuckled.

"Stop Nicolas." He chuckled as I shoved him playfully. And the professor walked in and the lecture started. 40 minutes later when the lecture ended. Nicolas said "Hey, um I'm not good with expressing but can we exchange numbers. I mean for studies and all, nothing personal. Just . . . he blabbered. I laughed and gave him my phone to type his number. And gave him a call.

" There you also have my number now." He smiled and we went to next class. After completing the third lecture Nicolas and I went to Canteen. I started spotting if Tess or Dan were around. I immediately spotted Dan but cringed because he was making out with a girl at the corner of the room.

"Nicolas!" a girl called. She has soft wavy hair, sweet face, pink lips and a cute smile. She had slim waist and skinny legs. "Emily! " Nicolas smiled and hugged her.

He looked at me and said, " Em, this is Isabella. And Isabella this is Em, I mean Emily." She waved with her fingers. I smiled at her. "Hi. "

" So you are the bomb figure everyone is talking about and Nicolas mentioned yesterday." I chuckled a when Nicolas shoved her .

" Emily have some manners. Stop hanging out with Enzo a lot. " He groaned. "Hey it's okay. You are funny. You study . . . " I asked.

" Journalism. " she replied with a smile. Another girl came from the same way Emily did. I instantly recognized her. Mia Moretti, she went to same high school as me. In fact, Tess, Me, Sia were good friends with her.

"Hey Em, Nicolas. "

"Hey Mia! " I said.

" Isabella! How are you?" Mia exclaimed.

" You know each other?" Nicolas asked confused.

" Yeah, we were in same High School. "

"Yeah." I confirmed with Mia.

" I didn't knew you transferred here!" Mia said hugging me.

"It's been a long time. How are you" I ask her.

" Great! " She exclaimed.

"How's Sia? I haven't met her yet." I asked her. And all Nicolas, Emily and Mia looked behind me with wide eyes.

I turned around only to see Sia making out with a guy. I was not able to see his face as he has his back facing at us. He had broad shoulders, brown hair and everything he was wearing was black, black jeans, black t shirt may be and black jacket. Sia said something in his ear and he nodded following her. Both of them leaving. I saw Tess coming towards us. I hugged her. And turned to face Nicolas, Emily and Mia. All of them had jaw clenched and angry, but Emily had eyebrows frowned in worry expressions.

"Excuse me. " Nicolas went in the same direction Sia and that guy left . I looked at Tess she mouthed 'later' and I nodded.

" Let's go and catch up Isabella, Tessa." Mia suggested. We went to the nearest table. Then Mia, Emily, Tess and I talked. When I asked Mia she told me that Enzo - The guy, is Mia's older twin brother. He dated Sia. But of course Sia being Sia dumped him. They didn't told much. And even I didn't asked, not to be nosy Isabella. We also talked about our current crushes and favorite actors.

And now it was time for my last class. Nicolas didn't show up afterwards but Dan did. Throughout the lecture he was poking my arm, calling my name to disturb me. And eventually gave up when he realized that I will not pay attention to him.

After going home I changed and went to the meeting.

After discussing for 2 hours, Mr. Thorpe stood up and shake my hand saying, " I'm sure your Mom's proud of you Honey. We have the deal I will ask my secretary to send you the agreement and other essential papers. We might need to meet in Seattle after the construction finishes like in two or three months. " Mr. Thorpe was my mother's very old friend. His main office is in Seattle.

Living in Manhattan and that too on the upper East side had its advantages. "Thank you Mr. Thorpe. And don't worry about meeting in Seattle. I will be there. " And he left with shooting me a smile. It was 8:30 when I reached home. I was tired. And Tess already made dinner. "Mm what's for dinner? " I asked sniffing air.

"Pasta and fried rice. Come on. Get fresh. I'll serve. Oh s**t, how was the meeting?" She blabbered. I just smiled. She squealed and threw herself on me. I went to have a bath. Looking myself in the mirror I looked at myself. I had that same smile my Daddy had. The nose my Mom had. My eyes were literally a combination of both of them. Once I had a bath and washed my hair. I got dressed in a t shirt and shorts. And went to have dinner. Tessa was in her room, probably having a bath. So I reheated the food and was placing the plates.

She came out and asked me, " Did you do, you know what? " I froze. And looked at her. I just nodded my head. And she smiled sadly. She knows how much I hate doing it. "Alright, to enlighten your mood let's watch Friends!" Tess said enthusiastically. And I nodded.

After dinner we ran Friends show marathon. I remember how much my Dad wanted me to do the same thing he did. And look Daddy, your Baby Cakes is doing it. Are you proud of me? I wish you both were here with me right now. May be then, Granny would have also been alive. Tessa nudged my arm with her elbow. "Hey don't think about it Babe." She told me.

"Yeah, it's just . . . I-I can't h-help it." She smiled sadly. And I did too. After 5th episode we called it a night. I just hope tomorrow goes well. I had a feeling that something gonna happen that's going to stay with me all my life.

It felt like I'm gonna find that happiness in my life that will change it in a good way. I just prayed for every person's happiness and peace. And with that I again drifted to that nightmare of my parents' unfortunate death.
