Carters POV

I was in the middle of talking to the fay queen herself when someone opened the door I was about to yell at them when the most yummy smell hit my noise I knew that very second who it was "MATE" I said so loud that I'm pretty sure that every one in a 1 to 2 miles heard me. The person next to her got to close for mine and my wolfs comfort so I did the thing that wolfs do he most I growled at them. He stood  portative in front of her he then got ready to fight as if he thought I was going to hurt her.  But stopped when he heard her angle like voice  say "stand down " all eyes were on her now . " but my queen. He disrespected you!" I looked so confused as to why he was calling her his queen everyone knows that the kingdom of justice is ruled by a man its just command facts ,right? 

 Brooklyn's POV

The look on Carters face when Owen called me his queen  was priceless. I'm guessing he was ones of the people who thought I was a man to. But then his face turned cold as he said "you left me for 2 years why" "oh honey I was never yours to being with. Us being mates will never change that " he growled out a "why" I replied with "simply I will never be controlled by a man " right after I said that Blake came in. The fay queen I think said " alright now that we are all here lets start this meeting already" I took a seat next to Blake which earned a growl from Carter. I would be lying if I said it didn't scare me but I didn't let that show. I just stayed in my  seat. But much to my luck Carter took the seat next to mine yay (note the sarcasm)I hated being so close to Carter so  I scooted closer to Blake  which earned a growl from Carter but I didn't care. You might be like why do you hate being close to Carter well its simply I wasn't the best person before I became queen as you might know I was a killing machine, an assassin. So I had and still have a bunch of enemies I just don't want my mate to get into that kind of stuff because everyone I have ever cared about died and I cant help but blame myself.

Carters POV

 I was not really listening to the meeting I was to busy looking at my beautiful mate. I'm guessing it was over cause everyone was getting up plus my beta Jake elbowed me in the gut. it was dark outside by now so me being the amazing gentleman I am said "you guys are more than welcome to stay the night " 

"that would be great thank you " Blake said 

"that would also be great thank you" Alex said {aka the fay queen} but what surprised me was that Brooklyn had said yes. So many questions popped into my head like why did she run away.

Were was she all these years?

did she miss me?

Who was that person you called her my Queen.

and last but not least why did she show up now.
