Chapter 2

They warned me he was dangerous. They didn’t warn me he’d ruin my peace, my GPA, and… possibly my sanity. --- — Detention, Again “Raha Mehra.” Mrs. Lobo’s voice was sharper than my mom’s eyeliner. Everyone’s heads turned. “You’re late. Again.” I sighed. “Traffic.” “It’s a school, not the Delhi Metro.” Before I could answer, a deep voice drawled lazily from the back of the room: “Cut her some slack, ma’am. She was busy stalking me.” My soul left my body. Rian Kapoor. Leaning back in his chair like the universe belonged to him, twirling his pen with that devilish smirk. Gasps echoed through the room. Someone actually whispered, “He’s talking to her.” I shot him my deadliest glare. “I wasn’t stalking you.” He tilted his head, amused. “You sure? ’Cause that’s exactly what a stalker would say.” Mrs. Lobo slammed her ruler. “Enough! Both of you, detention. NOW.” --- __ The Locked Room Turns out “detention” today meant being locked in the old library storage room. With him. “Don’t worry, princess,” Rian said, inspecting the dusty shelves. “I’ll protect you from the ghosts.” “There aren’t any ghosts.” “Says the girl who literally screamed when a moth flew past her last week.” I turned to argue but froze. There was no handle on the inside of the door. “…Rian.” He raised an eyebrow. “Yeah?” “We’re locked in.” He smirked. “Exactly what I was hoping for.” My brain short-circuited. “Excuse me?” “Relax, princess. I’m joking.” A beat. “…Or am I?” --- Unexpected Secrets We sat on opposite ends of the dusty floor, pretending the other didn’t exist. I doodled in my notebook; he tossed a paper plane at my head. “You’re annoying.” “And you’re obsessed.” “I literally hate you.” “That’s not what your eyes said in the courtyard yesterday.” I opened my mouth to yell back when his phone buzzed. He snatched it instantly, but not before I caught a glimpse: Unknown Number: “Meet me at the old parking lot tonight. Same deal.” My curiosity screamed louder than my common sense. “What deal?” “Not your business, princess.” “It is when I’m trapped in a room with you and your shady… deals.” He leaned in, voice dropping to a dangerous whisper: “Some truths, Raha… are better left buried.” But his jaw tightened. And for the first time, Rian Kapoor looked scared. --- — The Fight Nobody Expected Suddenly, we heard yelling outside. Boys’ voices. Loud. Aggressive. Rian stiffened. “Stay here.” “Like hell I’m—” Before I could finish, he yanked me behind a shelf, placing a finger against my lips. “Don’t. Move.” Through the cracked door, I saw three senior guys storming past — including Aarav Malhotra, the football captain, Rian’s sworn enemy. “Where’s Kapoor?” Aarav barked. “We know he has the flash drive.” Flash drive?! Rian cursed under his breath, then grabbed my wrist. “Change of plans, princess. You’re coming with me.” Before I could protest, we bolted out the back door and straight into— --- — The Rain & The Confession 🌧️ Of course it was raining. Because why wouldn’t the universe make my day worse? “Explain. Now!” I shouted, chasing after him as we ran across the empty football field. “Not now, Raha.” “No, you don’t get to drag me into some shady mafia movie and NOT explain!” He stopped, turning sharply, and I nearly crashed into him. He looked… furious. “You want the truth?” he growled. “I’m not the trouble everyone thinks I am. I’m worse.” I stared at him, chest heaving. “That’s… supposed to make me feel better?” He smirked bitterly. “No. It’s supposed to make you run.” --- — The Twist Nobody Saw Coming Back at home, I collapsed on my bed, head spinning. Rian Kapoor. Flash drives. Senior fights. Shady deals. I should stay away. I should. My phone buzzed. A new text. Unknown Number: “Raha Mehra. Stay away from Rian Kapoor… or you’ll regret it.” My stomach dropped. How the hell did they get my number? And then, a notification popped up. A video link. I clicked it. It was CCTV footage from today’s detention… Of me and Rian. Locked in. Alone. --- Before I could process it, another message came: “Break his heart, or we’ll break yours.” And just like that, I realised: This wasn’t just a bad boy romance anymore. This was a game. And someone out there was playing it better than both of us. ✨ Author’s Note ✨ Ahhh… things just got spicy, didn’t they? 😏🔥 Raha’s life just flipped upside down, and trust me — this is only the beginning.
