The Aces

C H A P T E R 3

I woke up with the sound of the alarm. I looked at the clock and oh my god! I slept for 12 freaking hours! I went up the bed and saw the new environment. I at first did not mind it.

“Maybe dad renovated the room when I was asleep?” I thought stupidly. I went to the bathroom to have a cool and nice bath. I have a habit of smelling shampoo and soap. I smelled it and was amazed of how it smells. It has a honey-butter fragrance and with that I thought dad bought a new shampoo.

“Maybe dad bought a new shampoo.” I smiled by that thought. Reality heats me when I entered into the bath tub the warm water helps me remember what happened.

“I miss my daddy.” I said with a deep sigh. I bury have of my body in the water and think of how will I survive this new world.

I suddenly heard my stomach growling so I immediately went off the water and get dressed. I looked for something to eat except for the fruits that are in my refrigerator and table.

“They have lots of fruits in here but there is no meat or chicken or fish?” I thought of it. I remembered that there is a dinning room downstairs. I checked the time in the wall and it is 9PM in the evening. I went out and the hall way is already dark. I took my phone and yes, Aida left me with a phone earlier. I switched the flashlight on and slowly walked in the hall way. I startled when the lights went on. I looked around and saw no one. I suddenly had chills and run. I run with no looking back. I’m thinking that if I look back, I may see something scary. I reached the 3rd floor and the hall way is dark. I stopped and bit and breath deeply.

“ I never thought that I will run this long and dark hall way just for a damn food!” I unbelievably remarked myself.

I run and reached the end of it. The lights went off and I immediately went downstairs.” I’ll properly think about it later when I’m full.” I said then run again.

When I reached the ground floor the lights are on and I hear noises inside the room. I believe that it was the dinning hall. It was opened when I came here.  One thing that I thought is how will I approach the people here. I mean, except Aida and the guards, I never talked to anyone.I calm myself first and after a few seconds my breathing is back to normal. I was about to enter the hall when I heard someone talk behind the door. Well, I’m curious of how he look like. I mean, the people here looks like normal people who lives outside of this realm but that thing is they are beyond handsome. Oh and the word handsome for them is an understatement.

I slowly walk towards the door when it suddenly opened and it accidentally banged my forehead causing me out of balanced. My butt-face hurts and my back is lying down the ground with my eyes closed. I gently opened my eyes and saw 2 handsome creatures.

“Oh! I am sorry. My bad!” says the other handsome boy with green monolid eyes with naturally think eyebrows and thick and long eyes lashes. His thin red lips compliments his pale skin and his straight-raised nose are just so beautiful to look at. He offers his hand to help me but I declined it and started to stand up and dust off my pants which is useless because it has no dusts in here. This place it too clean.

His green eyes shows disappointment to me but faded away when he heard my stomach growl. He laughed which made him cute and lost his eyes. He got that eye-smile eyes huh.

My stomach betrayed me and choose to embarrass me.

“I bet your hungry.” He said.

“Uhm yeah, a little.” I shyly said.

“We’re about to enter the hall, do you want to join with us?” He asked me if I can join them? Hell no! I’m new to this guy and I can’t trust him. Also, Aida said that be careful on what and who you trust.

“I’m good thank you for the offer.” I said while facing down.

“You’re new here,aren’t you?” The guy with a husky voice asked me. I find it sexy and caused me to look at him and our eyes meet. His droopy blue eyes and rounded thick eyebrows makes him beautiful. His honey colored skin matches his eyes really well. His pointed nose and kissable rosy lips makes him stood his beauty out.

“Yes,I am.” I formally said.

“Then you haven’t met or had a friend here?” the 3rd guy said with such amusement. His oval-shaped face with hazel monolid eyes and naturally thick straight eyebrows, pinkish cheeks, rosy perfect M lips and straight-raised nose makes him very beautiful. No, beautiful is and understatement for him.

“Oh! Let me formally introduce ourselves to you. I’m Kim. Pleased to meet you.” He said and bowed 90 degrees. So the handshake is not a culture here, I see.

“I’m Nine. Pleased to meet you,Miss.” said the blue eyes.  He’s just so handsome.

“And I’m Min. The youngest in this circle.” said the green eyed-Min. Oh, no wonder.

“And you are?” Asked Min.

“I am Melody.” I said and bowed a little.

“Okay so you are Mel.Anyway, you’re hungry right? Mind if you join us? We’ll help you out.” He said seriously but with a cute expression.

“Okay. Do you have other friends?” I asked them. Well, curiosity kills cat and that cat is me.

“Yes, we have.” Min said. So he’s this talkative? The other guys remain silent and I bet they are just listening to us.

“But before we go, can we see your leaf?” Nine asked with curiosity.

I let them saw my wrist and they’re expression changed when they saw it.

“Is there a problem? What’s the matter?” I asked. Their faces are giving me chills.

“When did you come here? And where are you from?” Kim asked.

“I came from-uhm the human world? And I came here earlier? I just slept for 12 hours.” I said with a little sarcastic tone.

“You are awesome!” Min said then put his hand around my neck. Uhm- its uncomfortable!

“Why?” I asked still feeling uncomfortable.

“It is so rare for a human to have a Maple leaf. Maple leaf is the Star Class here in school and only 5 students last year are in the Maple Class.” Kim shared with deep understanding.

“How about this year’s class and how do you get those leaves?” I asked.

“Before Kim answer it can we go to the hall first then talk while eating?” Min said with a pout. He is still a baby.

We entered the hall and only a few are eating. It is not noisy now, just a little murmurs of everyone who’s talking while enjoying their food.

“Do you want a steak?” Min asked. I nodded automatically. I salivate when I smell the food.

“Medium rare? I was about to answer when he cut me off.

“Medium rare it is.” I just shook my head and laugh a little.

“So, now answer me.” I said while facing Kim. His beauty really gave me butterflies but never dwell in it. I think.

“Well,every year the leaves marked on u changes. It changed if you did well or lack all the activities given. Its like survival. And if your leaf is a Maple leaf, expect everyone to give you high respect and honor. They see you as an idol. “ Kim explained. “On the other hand, Hawthorn is the least and a chaotic Class in this school. They are the so-called rebels. They liter, gave headaches and pranks to the pedagogues. They are the total opposite of the Maple Class.” Kim continued.

“What is your leaf by the way?” I asked Kim.

“Maple.” he said then showed me his arm.

I am euphoric seeing my classmate in the first time.

“But please don’t just let others see your leaf.” He told me with a warning tone.

“Why though?” I asked.

“They might pull pranks on you or worst gave you bad appearance to the public or to the pedagogues. You surely don’t want to be one of the Hawthorns right?” Now I know. I must be very careful.

“We actually enrolled ourselves today and the three of us are Maples.” Nine said as he use his phone.

Min arrived with the steak and we ate afterwards.

While I was eating, I just feel a sudden chill on my back and I feel like someone is looking at me. I looked at the guys and they are peacefully.

Kim saw me stiffed and asked,”Are you okay?”

“I had chills. Its like a wind hugs me and feel like someone’s looking at me.” I said while looking at them nervously.

“Oh,maybe Zypher’s friend is visiting you.” Min said.

“Huh?’ I asked with total confusion.

“Zypher is the wind who’s really harsh and scary. He’s the wind of the sea. Maybe,Wei visited you. She’s the wind of the mellows. She’s nice and soft. The total opposite of Zypher.’ Min said cheerfully.

“Oh okay. I thought it’s an intruder.” I said calmly. We finished our meals and went to our personal dorms. I as the marathoner of the day decided to run the hall ways of second floor and third floor and with heavy breath and sweat, I reached my room tempestuously.

I had nothing to do in my room so, I set my alarm at 7AM and sleep again peacefully. Tomorrow is another day of my adventure here in Maple Realm. I realized  I had a lot of new things to know and discover. I need to have a lot of energy for this. I must enroll myself tomorrow.
