The Aces

C H A P T E R 12

~Flashback to the Pedagogue’s POV~

“You have introduced yourself and I would like to introduce myself too. I am Mr. Deiv. And I will be your general pedagogue. I am teaching here a year after the war. I was one of the survivors of this class and I will introduce to you how is it to be like in The Aces department. The Maple Class belongs to The Aces department since everyone here has been working hard to achieve and practice their abilities. But The Aces department does not only look at the abilities but also in the attitudes and personalities. Some of you has a dark and intimidating aura or outside appearance but I can see that you are hiding your true color. I can say that because my ability is to see and know your feelings and emotions. I can see your colors and I know that you’re just wearing your mask. Its fine and its natural, but do not stay like that. It will develop and become your attitude and characteristic one day. To be frank, The Aces department is the most difficult department. But this trains you to be very diligent and excellent in your own ability. Now, because this is the best department, we and the other pedagogues expects you to be helpful and useful in managing our school rules and regulations and do not start the fight. I know some of you here are facing such nuisance with each other, so,I want you to solve this as soon as possible. You are now a model student and the most respected student in this school. So be one. Next is, we have the survival activity in the next semester in which, you have to pass it or you will be left behind and can’t be graduated in this school and that is such a big shame nd insult to the department and to this class. On the process, we will start our discussion about the school’s history tomorrow and we will also practice our abilities and must not lack. It is important to know the pros and cons of your ability and there and then, we can develop more our abilities. And to someone who thinks she hasn’t found her own ability, think why you’re here and think why are you qualified in this class. Same goes to someone who thinks her ability is too simple and uncool compared to the others. You must think that each and everyone in this school is precious and we value you. Sooner or later, we will go outside and help the human ways and government. That is the very least that we can do to the human government because they too has a big part in our history as creatures.” I said with a straight face but with warm words. I can see ZelzNine and Bella has something bad going on. Mel thinks she does not have her abilities when in fact she already found it. Zel thinks her ability is not good as the others and Ash always wear her mask for some reasons. This batch is really chaotic and has a lot to say but cannot because of their trust with each other. And speaking of trust, Kim and Mel trusts each other as long lost friends, I assume they feel at home with each other.

I must be a good pedagogue to them because they held a lot of feelings that is not normal just like the other batches. This must be a headache but I think I have to face it with all might. They are not just The Aces department and the Maple Class but they are the future of this Realm. Without them, this Realm is nothing and Black Bloods will take over the Realm again. I don’t want that to happen again since lot of creatures suffer because of this mess. They should be strong and fearful.

~Present Day~

“Good morning class!” I said with a great smile. This must be a good way of starting the class,right?

“Good morning,Mr. Diev.”

“For today we will talk about your abilities and where did it come from.” I said then glimpse at Melody who is busy writing what I have said earlier.

“She is studios,kind,cheerful and brave. She got it all from her mother.” I thought of it making sure that my mind is closed. I don’t want Kim to read it out and find out the real life of Mel.

“Starting from you Ash, share with us what is/are your abilities.”

She boringly stood up and said,”My abilities are making water. I can make ice,snow,glaziers and everything that can be in a form of water. S of now, that’s the peak of my abilities,Mr.Deiv.” Then she sits up. I can see that she had her boring and moody aura face but deep inside her, she wants to have a chat with Mel. She just can’t and I don’t know why.

“Next!” I shouted

“The first ability that I unlock is Wind. I’m actually friends with Wei and I can make distractions and everything with this ability. I can also befriend Zypher which is the wind of the raging storm. The last ability that I unlock is the Land. I can break it, turn it into a good soil or even kill it. That is what I’ve got,Mr. Deiv.” she said with an annoying face. I know she wants Zel to get jealous and irritate her but deep inside her heart, she is a warm person. She just can’t accept every thing that’s stumbling on her way.”

“Very good,Bella. Next,please.”

“Min is the name and I personalized other persons. I can duplicate and copy their emotions or even act and speak like them. As of now, this are the field of my abilities,Mr.Deiv.” I smiled he has the most vulnerable ability and it is really dangerous if he can’t handle it really good.

I nodded and the next person stood up.

“Nine. My ability is to have a photographic memory. I can give you all the details both great and small. I can give you the pure picture of it. That’s what I have as of now.” His ability too is vulnerable. Nine is an emotional person. He’s terribly sad inside but he covers it with his mask.

“Kim and I can read  minds. That’s all.” Kim is really a type of not so arrogant but arrogant. He has a chill personality. My ability and his ability and Mel’s ability can team up in the future.

“next.”

“Zel, and I can talk to plants and animals.”  she said then look at Bella’s direction. They are bringing out the beast out of her. I think I should pair them up. I smiled to Zel and thumps up on her. I look at Bella’s direction and she stopped laughing evilly. If she’s not my student I can say that she’s one of the Black Bloods. She manifest their attitude though.

I looked at Mel who’s very sweaty. I know she still can’t say anything. I want her to find out.

I looked at her eyes and talked to her mentally,”You can do it. Just take time in finding it.”

She looked at me with a very very shocked expression. I know its her first time but she can do it. I claim it.

I signaled her to stay put and relax since I got her back.

“Now that I’ve heard your abilities, why do we have abilities?”I asked with full of curiosity. I must act that way so that they must give me ample answers.

“To protect us from bad creatures?” Mel said while raising her hand. I’m amazed. She only knew not a half of the school’s history.

“That’s a great answer and Kim do not try to read my mind since I make sure it is closed.” I told him since I can see his feeling. He was busted and Min and Nine punch him. I’m happy they are good.

“from the Black Bloods.” Zel answered. Zel has an edge to everyone except for Mel. Zel used the information that she heard while Mel observes. She’s a street smart human when she was still a human.

“Very good. The reason why our abilities existed just because of them. Now, where did our abilities came from?” I walked a little but no one answered.

“They come from a White Blood father of our current Empress,Tiana.” current because I know one day she will be replaced.

“Tiana’s father Vemon sacrificed himself just for the sake of peace. Since he was young, he invest himself in making varieties of abilities since he was a half-sorcerer,half-witch and half human. They are the richest and most influential creature. That time, everything are fine. Vemon is busy making abilities since he wants to prove that he is strong and powerful. He observes the creatures in their everyday life. He never came out of his house until one day,someone knew that he is making one. He at fist denied because he planned that he’ll keep it as a secret then let that secret out if it is confirmed that that is useful.  That someone is also a witch. Witches that time cannot be trusted. There are bad witch and good witch. Vemon fell in love with that witch without knowing her real and true story. He trusted her and made her the center  of his own little world. He’s busy making the abilities everyday but little did he knew, that witch is stealing at his formulas and finished abilities. He later found out when he caught the witch drinking it. He was so angry and did punish the witch. The pack of the witches knew what he did to their same kind. They attack and capture Vemon. The once peaceful community became chaotic and hatred runs in it. Vemon collected all the abilities and put it in a sacred jar then made a chant and a promise that whoever opens this sacred jar will give joy,peace and unity to their community. He saw the Maple leaf and stick it on the jar. He also wounded himself and drop 5 White bloods on the sacred jar. Then the head witch attack him and killed him.

As times go by, the witch that stole the abilities is pregnant. She then gave birth to a twin naming Rhea and Tiana. Even thought they are twins, the differ on their attitudes. Rhea is an not contented witch that she wants to have everything then Tiana who is loving,caring and contented on what she had. The twins grew up started to seek to their dad. Their mom tol them and from then one, Vemon always appear on Tiana’s dream. He warned Tiana not to tell anyone that she can see her in his dreams. He told Tiana to go to the dungeon. Tiana at first is reluctant and cannot trust him but then he assure Tiana that he is her dad. Tiana went to the dungeon and saw him. Turns out that the head witch did not killed Vemon. Only one of his daughters can kill him. Vemon gave the abilities to Tiana and Tiana that time is only 10 years old. He can trust her since she displays good attitude compared to her twin sister. They soon found out that the witches captured everyone in the village and they too are in the dungeon. Vemon took one of the abilities and let Tiana see what happened then. Tiana cried and promised his dad to take them out of the dungeon but it was all too late. Rhea followed Tiana and she wants to have what is one Tiana’s hands. The scared jar of abilities. Rhea went mad and called her mother. She left the dungeon gates open and the creatures used it as an escape. They fought and fought. The witch used Vemon’s ability which is the enchanting voice to make everyone fall asleep but Tiana was there and even she is her mom, she still stood for what is right. Her mom got angry and Rhea too. They fought and Rhea remembered that only one of his daughters can kill their dad and without a due, he killed his father who is protecting her twin sister, Tiana saw everything and was unable to protect his father. She tried to kill her sister but the other creatures guard her saying that she is the only way to prosperity. Her mom wants to kill her also. She ran but her mom is chasing her,even her younger twin sister. At the end, even though she was her mom, she killed it by poking her a needle. Rhea was in rage and the twins who was once peaceful became the each other’s enemy. From then on, Tiana made a way to escape together with the other creatures. The stayed under the Maple tree beside the lacuna. The Lacuna is their sign that they flee away and do not want to have a war anymore. Tiana decided to have a Realm in the Maple Tree. Just to be safe. She used one of her father’s abilities and entered the Maple Tree without a split second. Why did our department named The Aces because the Empress used it as  word for bravery, unity care, love and peace. They were The Aces of yesterday, you will be The Aces of tomorrow.” I said then wipe my eye. “I was one of them, I grew up with the Empress and knows everything about her. Aida and I were the Empress’ best friend.”

I saw Mel’s eyed bawled and shocked when she heard Aida.

“Why are you crying silently,Mel?” I asked her softly.

“Because I can see it.” She said then looked around.

“I think I finally found my ability.” then she bawled in such despair.

“It is fine my dear.” I pat her back slowly.

“What’s worst is I can only see Aida’s face and your face. I cannot see the Empress’ face.” then she cried again.

Her classmates is looking at her and deeply hurt by her cry.

“Its going to be okay,soon. Calm down and don’t worry.”

And with that scene, I bid my class goodbye.
