The car spun for a moment as soon as Lucian pushed the brakes and Thea’s head slammed against the window rendering her dizzy and disoriented for a moment. She saw Lucian reach out for her steadying her body even though she was wearing a seatbelt and wondered why he wasn’t more concerned about himself. Everything was blurry and fast for a moment and the only thing Thea could hear was Lucian cursing and the sound of the tires squealing against the ground. “Damn it!
