Can’t figure out high school. It’s so strange. I mean, in junior high there was one group that pretty much controlled everything. They were on Student Council, did cheer and sports, dominated every dance and decreed who was in, who was out, from their fortress in the middle of the soccer field. There they sat, like royals in an elevated castle, while the lowly peasants grouped in clusters around them. Everyone knew that the closer to them you sat, the higher your station. Lots of kids made it to inner keep, but even though I spent close to a year trying every scheme and strategy I could think of, the closest I ever got was the moat two walls away.
