9 Lisa 37 days since leaving Grace In the dream Anthony was looking at her and his mouth was moving, but it wasn’t his voice she heard. It wasn’t a voice at all. It was a dull thumping sound, perfectly in sync with his lips opening, like a fish. He was trying to say something, and she could tell he was getting frustrated that she didn’t understand, but she couldn’t, they weren’t even words, they were just sounds, noises, thumps, thuds, knocks—knocks— Knocking.
