03: The Usual Do Re Mi Fa So.
Boy; Little Mix.
"Thank you," I smiled while the averagely handsome waiter placed my plate filled with what seemed to be delicious food onto the table. I glanced at Aaron who was sitting right in front of me and saw his annoyed expression. Don't mind him, please. He is on his period.
He averted his gaze from his phone onto me and glared at me. I wondered what was really wrong with him. Did he hear me comment on the waiter's looks? Even if he did, where is his problem located amidst the words I used? I glared back at him. He was definitely mentally stabbing me with a fork.
He then understood that he was not being very subtle at the game of glares. It was then that I decided that it was purely futile to even ponder about whatever was going on his mind. Anyway, it is filled with nothing but poop. Endless amount of poop. Paying no more attention to him, I decided to focus on my love - the food.
Oh, right.
Let me enlighten you about how Aaron and I ended up in this fancy restaurant, called Reminiscences, on a Sunday evening. Sounds absolutely absurd if you ask my opinion. That's mainly because Sunday evenings are always PJs and binge watching TV shows night - right before I start sulking because I don't know what to watch next. Previously, as you already know, I had found out about Camilla. That bitc- you know what I mean. Just after having gone through an emotional breakdown, while I was in a session of 'wipe-the-tears-and-appear-fine', my phone rang and interrupted me.
Since it was mum, I didn't mind that much. But I still minded it because I was in the mood to cry and wipe tears and not to talk to anymore. Anyway, it had been days since I last talked to her and I would be lying if I said that I didn't miss her.
I cleared my throat and said some musical notes. The usual Do Re Mi Fa So. My voice was not cracking up and it was rather okay. "Yes mama. Hi." Immediatly, I grinned from ears to ear at the sound of her voice. A familiar warmth filled my heart, making me feel safe and full of joy. I could picture her sitting on the sofa, talking to me and smiling; just like she would do when she would talk to my elder sister, Layla.
"How are you doing, my baby?" She asked softly.
I answered, "Good mama, good." I bit my lips right after. Despite the fact that I wanted to share my problems with her, I couldn't. I was big enough to know that I had to deal with my problems by myself. And a marriage life consists of the husband and wife only.
"You sure, sweetheart? You sound different," she questioned with worry. A frown must have crept on her gorgeous face by then. On a side note, mothers have powers! They always guess things correctly even on days when they shouldn't.
I let out a fake chuckle, "Of course I am. Tell me about you and dad. How's life hun?"
She told me that everything was fine and going perfectly, as per God's grace. Dad's business was flourishing and on this occasion, he decided to plan a family dinner.
"That sounds amazing! Will Layla be there too?" Obviously, I would be looking forward to a dinner with my family. I missed those craziness-filled moments a lot.
"Of course, honey," Mum chuckled. "Everyone will be there."
And this took me off-guard, "What do you mean by everyone?"
"Your dad, Aaron, Daniel, Layla along with little Charlotte, you and I," Mum stated before continuing, "If you want, we may invite your in-laws. It's a great idea!"
Layla was my elder sister, Daniel her husband and little Charlotte her daughter of two. She was living her dream life and I was jealous, just not in a bad way. I also felt incredibly happy for her- she was not suffering like I was. I never got the chance to enjoy my honeymoon because we never went. Aaron has been making business-related excuses to postpone it. Atleast, the very least, that he could do would be to take me on a vacation. But no way. Aaron would never love me like Daniel loved her. Aaron didn't care at all about me. Aaron wasn't even mine.
I really appreciated the efforts made by Daniel for Layla and Charlotte. He fixed Layla's broken heart with his little gestures. Not only that, but they have been married for years but sadly, couldn't have a child until the fifth year. By God's grace, today, they have a budding flower to prove their eternal romance: Charlotte herself.
"No, no," I shook my head, forgetting that I was on the phone, talking. "A dinner among the family members will do some good for the moment. It's better."
"Just bring Aaron along then. We'll wait for you and him there," Mum emphasized on bringing Aaron, sending doubts to my brain. Was she aware of my wedding life's mess?
"Sure mama," I tried to chuckle but it came out dry. "Where?"
"I'll send you the location, alright. I need to go now. See you later, my baby."
"Goodbye mama."
As soon as I hung up the phone, I let out a breath and sighed. How was I going to tell Aaron about this, without talking and facing him? I had to convince him if he would be refusing to go. Him refusing was a likely possibility given his persistent and satanic behaviour. Oh God, how was I going to survive being in the same car as him?
I stood up and walked to the window. I felt my head explode with thoughts, making me feel suffocated. Being in a relationship where you are unwanted is terrible. Especially, when you can't end it as well. Atleast, not yet.
Mama would tell me stories about princesses who persevered until they received their happy ending. I could be patient, right, that is, until he decides to kick me out of his life.
Seeing my notebook on the wooden table, an idea popped into my mind. I grabbed a pen and jotted down some words before taking the page out of the notebook. Quietly, I closed the door behind me and walked to Aaron's. I heard nothing behind the door and I thought whether he went to the office or went to drop Camilla at her place. Or whatever.
Nevertheless, I decided to do what I had to - sending the letter into Aaron's room. I sat on the floor and tried to send the letter to the room through the small space beneath the end of the door. If you understand what I'm trying to convey, obviously.
It wasn't the toughest task because all I had to do was slip the letter inside. Literally sliding through his DMs in real life. I just wished he would receive it on time. Otherwise, mum would doubt our wedding's act.
However, as soon as I stood up, a cough knocked my brains out and made my heartbeats rush. Before you judge me for what I did further, let me tell you one thing. In a panic, my brain stops working and I behave like the most stupid fool in the whole world.
Knowing it was Aaron, I bit my lips in an attempt to make my heart stop being so crazy. Well, that definitely didn't help much.
Cough.
Yes, another cough. How I wished I had Harry Potter's invisibility cape right now. Just too bad, Rhianna. Too bad.
Without losing any more time, I got back in my seated position and like babies, I crawled to my room as quickly as possible. But I had no degree in crawling.
Yes, I did that. Stop laughing at me!
This was the only thing I could do to avoid having face-to-face conversation with Aaron, alright.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" His voice echoed on the floor, with hints of amusement. It filled my heart with enormous warmth, knowing it made him less angry than he would, on seeing me, for once. I stopped my tracks and remained motionless, with my two hands on the floor and face facing downward.
The floor was beautiful!
"You're crazy!" Aaron muttered before taking some steps. My heart accelerated even more as I thought he was going to help me up! It was definitely a great move to start a friendship! "I seriously hope you didn't put that stupid hamster in my room again or I swear, I'll capture him and give it to Leo. We'll have him for dinner. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Just after he spoke, the door to his room was opened and closed behind his back.
Disappointed, I continued to crawl to my room but in a quicker pace. Once inside, I sat by the door. Nevertheless, a loud chuckle left my mouth as I thought of what I had done to embarass me again and about the hamster.
Like two weeks ago, Camilla was out of town to meet her parents. I had to keep her hamster, Joy, for some days. One day, by sheer mistake, Joy got out of its cage because I hadn't lock it properly. The little ball of hairs went in only one room, that of Aaron's. The door was partially open, hence it wasn't so tough for it to enter and make a mess of everything.
At that time, I was having a shower. I was peacefully humming when suddenly I heard a loud "WHAT THE f**k?" I decided to go on deaf mode right away and continued to hum and sing until I heard the word "Rat".
In a matter of five minutes, I was ready in a blue summer dress and wet skin. I could hear Thea's and Ray's voice. Not to mention, the furious tone of my dear husband.
I dashed to his room and it was a horrifying sight. My eyes widened in shock, seeing Aaron with his badminton racket in his hands. "Stop!" I yelled with anger. How could he think of hurting Joy with his racket? Thea and Ray, aware that I was looking after Joy, was trying to make Aaron calm and find the hamster first.
"Shut up and get out," He glared at me. I paid no attention to him and searched for Joy. Some minutes later, I found him near the bed, tangled in the sheets. I took it in my hands and smiled, "You're safe, little Joy."
"You are f*****g keeping a rat? Are you serious?" Aaron frowned with disgust. "It's not even going to make you Ratatouille."
"It's none of your business," I mumbled.
He threw the racket on the bed. "Keep it away from my f*****g room. Look at the mess it made, for f**k's sake."
Thea interfered and spoke, "I'll clean it right away, Sir."
I just stared at Aaron with no emotions while he did the same back. As i walked away, I heard him mutter some hurtful words. Such were the words that were not meant to be forgotten, instead made to break your heart and haunt you for your wrong decisions.
"I've got more than one pest in the house now. Great!"
It was his great luck that I wasn't a totally annoying pest or I would've pooped on his face like a the magnique thing I was.
