Veric endured the pain, trying to get up while clutching his chest tightly.
"Without our permission, you cannot touch the holy water!" he warned.
"I'm sorry, I am guilty of not asking your permission. Even though you have taken good care of this holy spring," said Veric.
Three people suddenly appeared in front of Veric. Two women and one man.
"Tell me, what is your purpose for coming here? Do you want wealth, women, or power?" asked the man.
"A handsome man like you must want wealth and women," said one of the women standing next to the man.
"No. My purpose for coming here is only to drink a little of the holy spring water," replied Veric.
"The people who come here also want the same thing as you, so say it clearly," he said firmly.
"I want to become someone's disciple, and one of the requirements for me to become his disciple is to drink the holy spring water. He said it would make my heart much purer," explained Veric.
"All right. What is his name?" asked the man.
"Master Xiof," replied Veric.
The three of them looked at each other.
"We can allow you to drink this water, on the condition that you can guess the riddle from the three of us," replied the woman.
"All right," said Veric.
"But if you can't guess, even just once, you will still be considered a failure," said the man.
"I understand. I will try my best," replied Veric.
"Don't be too hasty, because if you fail, we will not give you the chance to leave. And we will make you our slave," said the woman holding the stick.
Veric paused for a moment; he had to make a difficult decision and couldn't act rashly.
"The reason they disappeared wasn't because they were killed, but because they were enslaved by them," Veric thought to himself.
"And if I fail, I'll end up just like them. But I have to try; I've come this far. I don't want it all to be for nothing," he continued.
"Think quickly about your decision. If you hesitate, it's better to go back. Otherwise, you might not survive," said the woman holding the fan.
"I won't go back until I've succeeded in drinking from the sacred spring," Veric replied firmly.
"So you accept our challenge?" said the man with a laugh.
"Amazing! You have such a strong ambition. I hope you don't fail," he continued.
"I do have strong hopes of succeeding," said Veric.
"Let's get started." The woman holding the fan took a few steps forward.
"I can know right and wrong, even what is seen and unseen. Who am I?" she asked with a smile.
Veric smiled slightly because the question was relatively easy.
"The answer is knowledge, because with knowledge I can know everything," replied Veric.
"Your answer is exactly right." The woman waved her fan because this was the first time her opponent had won.
Then the woman holding the stick stepped forward.
"Don't get too excited, you probably can't answer my riddle," she said firmly.
Veric sighed. What the woman said was true. But he would not give up.
"Imagine if you were in a desperate situation, you had to save either your mother or your wife. Who would you save first?" she asked.
Veric didn't answer right away because this riddle seemed like a trap.
"My mother and my wife are both equally precious," Veric said to himself.
"Don't take too long to think," she said, staring intently at Veric.
"My answer is that I wouldn't choose either of them. You're just asking me to imagine, and I don't like imagining bad things," Veric replied.
"Damn! It turns out you're quite clever. I could lose to you," he said with an annoyed expression.
"So my answer is correct?" Veric said to himself with a slight smile.
"Are you ready for my final challenge?" asked the man in a firm voice.
"Of course," said Veric.
The man showed several symbols and letters on the monitor screen.
Veric stared at the screen, scrutinizing the symbols and letters closely.
There were symbols such as •-^;¥₩€ and one letter, V.
"You have to know what those symbols mean," said the man.
Veric was still trying to think, which he found complicated.
"I can't get this wrong, or everything will fail," Veric said to himself.
"I'll give you 30 seconds. If you still can't answer, you fail," he warned.
"There's only one letter, I remember. I've studied this before," Veric said to himself.
"It's a symbol of victory," Veric replied before the time ran out.
The man smiled and clapped his hands. "Great! You're the only one who succeeded."
"As agreed, you can drink the holy water," he said.
Veric was, of course, happy, and he immediately drank several cups of the holy water.
"We will also help you later if you are really in dire straits. Believe that your goal will definitely be achieved," said the man.
The three people disappeared again.
"Finally, I have successfully completed my second mission," said Veric enthusiastically.
"Now I just have to go home and report to the Master," he continued.
Veric sighed, because he had to travel a long way again.
"If only I could disappear or had the power of teleportation, I would already be home by now," Veric said softly.
Suddenly, Veric's body vanished into thin air.
