Her chest shuddered with relief, and she wrapped her arms tight around my neck in a crushing hug. “Thank you, Filip.” I cupped her head with my hand and trailed my fingers down her long hair until she pulled away. “I think we’ve had enough excitement for one night. We can see where things take us tomorrow once we’ve had some rest.” We crawled back into bed, my body wrapped snugly around hers. I wasn’t in the habit of sleeping with anyone, so I wasn’t sure I’d get much rest, especially after all I’d learned. To my surprise, having Camilla safely next to me eased my anxieties, and I was quickly lulled to sleep after her slumbering form relaxed into mine. My heart soared to know she felt safe with me.
