NARA
“She said what?” Jared asked, his eyes snapping to me. “You told them we consummated our marriage?”
My heart raced, sweat beading across my forehead despite the cool air circulating through the house. I had only experienced a fraction of his cruelty on the day we got married, and now it felt as though I was about to face all of it at once.
“You suddenly can’t talk?” Jared stood slowly, pushing his plate aside. His stare was dark, his voice low and dangerous.
“I… I—your mum and aunt…” I stumbled over my words, my body trembling as panic took hold.
“Did you or did you not say it?!” he bellowed suddenly, making everyone at the table flinch.
“Jared, what’s the matter?” his mother intervened, concern etched across her face.
I looked at her pleadingly, silently begging her to calm her son, but before she could say anything, his aunt cut in.
“Now, Jared, there’s no need to be shy,” she said brightly. “Nara told us all about how the night went, and we are very proud of both of you. Isn’t that right, Nara?”
Oh, this woman.
Was she trying to get me killed? Jared stood there, furious and barely restrained, and she was only making things worse.
“Jared—” I tried to stand, but he lifted a finger.
“Sit.”
His tone left no room for argument.
“Mother, Aunt Ophelia, could you please excuse my wife and me?” he said calmly, a smile fixed unnaturally on his face. “I’d like to spend the rest of the day with her.”
Fear clenched my chest.
No. No. No.
I wanted to scream, to cry, to beg his mother to stop him, but I felt trapped—utterly powerless.
“Of course,” his mother said after a pause. “Nara, take care of yourself, the house, and my son.”
She turned to leave with Ophelia, who shot me one lingering, suspicious look before exiting.
The moment they were gone, the air thickened with dread.
I sat frozen, clutching my gown tightly, afraid to even breathe as Jared moved behind me. When his hands settled at the base of my neck, I nearly screamed, biting down hard on my lips to stay silent.
The hairs on my body stood as his face descended, lips grazing my ear, “so you had the temerity to lie to my family that we consummated our marriage?”
“I…I didn’t mean to. You h—have to believe me please. Your aunt and mother…they…”
“Oh they forced you to say it?” He asked, sarcasm ringing in his tone.
“Yes!” I admitted, hoping he would see my reason. “They cornered me. Your aunt didn’t let me breathe or think. She was hell bent on finding out if we did it or not and…”
“You lied to them like the cheating, lying w***e that you are. You told them we had s*x so that everyone could see you as the daughter inlaw of this family. You wanted to secure your position didn’t you?” His fingers dug into my skin, making me wince in pain.
“No Jared. That’s not true! I am not a w***e!” I screamed out, on the verge of tears. At this point, I didn’t care if the staffs heard me.
“Lying bitch.” He cursed, pulling me up from the chair forcefully.
“Stop you are hurting me!” I tried to resist but he was stronger than me.
Dragging me out of the dining area, his fingers twisted into my hair as he pulled me away. “Since you really want to consummate this marriage so badly, then I’ll give you what you want.”
What? Oh God please no.
“Jared please you have to listen to me. I didn’t say it because I wanted to. Your aunt…” I was at lost for words because I knew nothing I say would touch him. I cried out as he dragged me upstairs, my legs hitting the stairs.
“Jared please you can’t do this to me. I am a human being. I didn’t force you to marry me please!”
He didn’t respond, He shoved a door open and threw me inside before following and slamming it shut.
The door shut behind him with a loud bang and I scrambled backward in terror as he advanced like a predator cornering his prey, tears streaming down my face.
“I was told you are a virgin. But I know you aren’t. You spilled out whatever lies you could get just to marry me didn’t you?” He grabbed my legs and pulled me like I weighed no less than a paper.
I screamed. “I didn’t say any of that!”
I never did. My family must have lied to him. And now I was paying the price for it.
“Don’t worry. It’s just me and you today. Wife.” His voice was sinister and he seemed to enjoy the fear that radiated off me. Before I could register what was happening, he pulled me up and threw me on the bed making me cry out in pain.
Hovering over me, he blocked my chance of an escape, “Jared if you touch me right now, it’s a s****l assault!” I warned him.
He smiled, cruel, chilling smile. “Now you have to understand that whatever happens here today is totally normal. You lost every right to your body the day you married me. I’m having s*x with my wife. Isn’t it? Wife.” He was mocking me by calling me his wife. It was a bitter remark.
In the blink of an eye Jared tore a part of my gown, forcefully parting my thighs as I screamed for help. I thrashed around, pleaded, hit and scratched him, but nothing work instead it fueled his rage more.
His lips forced their way onto mine, kissing me with brutal aggression. When I refused to respond, he bit down hard on my lower lip, and I tasted blood. He kissed me roughly, treating me like a commodity and a possession he bought.
At this point, I was already weak from all the resisting. My throat ached me and my head throbbed heavily.
“I’m going to go inside of you now dear wife.” He whispered, hungry hands already inching towards my panties. My heart sank and I closed my eyes in horror, only whimpering in fear, pleading with him to not go through.
But then after some minutes, I realised I felt light. Quickly flying my eyes open, it dawned on me that his body was no longer on mine. He was nowhere in the room. When did he leave?
Slowly, I sat up straight, cleaning my tears as my body still shivered from the horrendous experience.
What just happened? And where did Jared suddenly go?
