Chapter 11

I woke up to the sound of Ben snoring softly with the bear in between us. His hand was wrapped around the white bear while holding onto mine which were also around the big white bear. We had slept half through the series after wolfing down all the food Ben had bought. I caressed Ben’s cheek with my other hand before I suddenly slapped his cheek causing him to jolt awake. I took time to look at his blonde hair that was covering his eyes. I couldn’t see his eyes but their blue colour made you get lost in them just by looking at him. His nose and lips were perfect and so was his jaw line with was perfectly chiseled. His body was muscular and buff which made him hotter than he was. Again the guilt crept in but I ignored it. “What time is it?” mumbled Ben sleepily and I reached for my phone which was beside the bed before replying that it was five pm. “I need to go,” he said looking at me with a sorrowful expression which made me laugh. “You don’t need to look like you were told there’s no hope for you living by an overdramatic doctor,” I told him while laughing and he stuck out his tongue at me. I feigned being hurt in the most dramatic way while Ben cracked up before sitting up and facing a sleeping me. “I’m going to miss you and I don’t want to leave but I have to run some errands first before resting so that I can pick you up tomorrow at eight for work.” I looked at Ben as if he had just told me, a twenty four year old that babies were brought in a stock’s beak. “You know I don’t work right? It’s not in my vocabulary anymore.” I nodded with an innocent expression. “Since when is the word work not in your vocabulary?” Ben looked like he was trying to hide the fact that he wanted to laugh at me. “Since I got married to Jay,” I responded with the same innocent expression which gave the illusion that what I was saying was making sense. “Babe, you are going to check on your businesses based here in Hollywood and then you are going to ask the other ones around the world to send you emails on how everything is going. You are an adult Lola and you need to act responsible; Jayden and your parents are worried about you plus you need to get out of this funk. You crying and sitting here talking to Elvis won’t solve your problems, maybe it might a little but you need to get out and let the world see their sweetheart again; if not for Jay or your parents then for me,” Ben said looking me in the eye with a serious expression which made me feel guilty for how I had been acting so much like a baby for the past few week and part of me once again got annoyed Jay wasn’t there when he said babe. “I’m sorry,” I mumbled and he was about to kiss me but I moved my head so that he could peck my cheek. “I’ll see you later babe,” he said and I smiled back. “Oh, I didn’t know you were busy,” Jay commented clearly not amused which made me smirk. “I’m going to miss you,” I whined glancing at Jay who clenched his jaw and my smirk widened. “I’ll miss you even more,” he whispered. He smiled before pecking my cheek again and saying bye. I waved with a goofy smile as he went away and he stopped to talk to Jay about something I probably should have been listening to but then I was too busy reliving the parts of my day in which I’d managed to piss Jay off. “So Lola I need you to prepare for dinner because I have a guest coming with his girlfriend at eight,” Jayden stated seriously. “How about you ask Miss Baby mama to cater for the dinner, I mean she is more of your wife than I am?” Jayden scoffed and tried to hold back an eye roll. “Remember the contract,” he growled clenching his jaw line. “Remember I am not your slave!” I shot back feeling annoyed. “I’m sorry I yelled but these people are really important and I want to please them so pretty please,” he yelled and I gave him a look and he cleared his throat before adding a calm please. I shot him a disdainful look before agreeing only because desperation wasn’t great on him. He shrugged before leaving and I suddenly wished we were normal. Normal was different and it was something I wanted to experience. I dragged myself off the bed and ran down the stairs to the kitchen we mainly used and Eva was sitting in there with a friend of hers. “I didn’t know you had a visitor,” I managed to say in a sweet tone. “It’s just my best friend Emily who came to see me on her way to the airport.” “Oh that’s sweet.” “Yeah Emily is thoughtful.” Emily smiled before chiming in, “Thank you Eva but now I have to go.” “I’ll walk you out,” Eva hurriedly told her friend before dragging her out. Something was going on with Eva and I was going to find out. She had looked uneasy when I entered which meant she was probably afraid I would rant her out to her cousin but I wasn’t that mean. As soon as they left I started putting out ingredients of what I wanted to cook and the two chefs and maid I wanted to work with were there. I always lost count of the amount of workers who were there but who was I to complain, it’s not as if their salaries went out of my paycheck. I had decided to make honey baked chicken with rice and some chicken and dumplings and also some stuffed shells and peppers. I didn’t know what everyone liked so I decided to have a variety. The chef made chocolate mousse for dessert while the maid set the table with my help. After preparing for dinner I was tired and a little sweaty. It was already past seven so I took a quick shower and I wrapped myself in my white drying towel. I then lotioned myself after entering my room before deciding on what to wear for the dinner in my closet. My phone then started ringing as I was picking out outfits so I bolted out to get it. Not bothering to check the caller id I pressed the phone to my ear only to hear the voices I loved most. Me: I am so mad at you both for not calling especially you Chris Chris: I’m sorry love but things were happening Me: What things? Chris: I think it is best if we settle a movie night because I’m guessing things were happening your side too. Me: Nope nothing on my side Chris: Oh come on you think I haven’t heard about Ben, he’s my best friend too need I remind you Me: Totally having the movie night Chris: You bet so anyway what are you up to? Me: Picking clothes for this dinner Jayden is hosting Chris: Wear the long light blue dress with dark blue designs or whatever I don’t know what their called at the cleavage. Wear those killer dark blue heels with it and apply- Me: Keep talking and I’ll label you off as gay anyway thanks for the outfit advice and I’ll call you later and they are studs that are on the cleavage. Chris: You know you made me a fashion guru in high school when you were always indecisive over what to wear. If I’m called gay it’s on YOU!!!! Me: I think my phone just cracked bye I cut the call to Chris protests and Brenda’s laughter. I decided to follow Chris’s advice and I applied some light make up before leaving my hair in wavy curls. I walked down the stairs when it was just five minutes to eight and the smile Jayden gave me as I walked down the stairs made me seriously have him see a doctor about his mental health. I frowned and glared at him feeling uneasy at how he was acting towards “You’re looking beautiful,” he whispered and I rolled my eyes. “You’re making me uncomfortable,” I shot back and he groaned. Jayden gave me a blank expression before leading us to the dining room where the guests already were. They were punctual people. To say I was shocked when I saw who was at the dinner would be a huge understatement. I couldn’t believe it, it couldn’t be. “Matt?” I managed to croak while Jayden held my waist to support me.
