Chapter 8: Clearing Things Up

Raelynn’s POV Callan was still fuming the whole way to our suite. I barely had time to register the beautiful living area and the glorious view of mountains and the rest of the resort before he lifted me up, put me over his shoulder and took me to the Alpha’s room, slamming the doors behind him.

He tossed me onto the bed and I bounced before falling against the bed on my back. He then crawled onto the bed and hovered over me.

It was a totally new experience to have a high-ranking Alpha of a powerful pack who just happened to be your mate hover over me. Sure Xavier had done it but he wasn't nearly as powerful or intimidating as Callan was.

And the fact that he was my mate…. Well, all I wanted to do was shed our clothes and make loud passionate s*x with him. To feel things I'd never felt before and to make him feel those things too.

But I didn't gather that he was mad with lust, I got the impression he was just mad.

"Who," he began, "is he to you?"

"Wh- What?" I asked, dazed. His breath smelt like peppermint.

"I asked who that low-class Alpha is to you?" He said louder.

"C-could you get off me?" I breathed, "I can't concentrate when you're on top of me."

“Answer my question.” He growled.

I looked into his eyes and saw they were black. His wolf was in control. Well, I couldn’t let our Charity because she’d roll him over and f**k him till he died. I decided to just ask her.

What do I do Charity. He won’t listen to me and I can’t concentrate. I asked, feeling the heat from his body.

Touch him. Calm down our mate. She sighed. She was feeling the effects of his closeness too.

I reached up and put a hand on his chest. His eyes lightened for a second before darkening again.

Again. Charity urged.

I took a deep breath and placed my hands on both sides of his face. “Callan. Please let me up.”

His eyes lightened and then darkened and lightened again.

While he was distracted with his wolf I pushed him off and moved so I was straddling him. I pulled him into a hug pulling his face into my chest trying to calm him down.

He was tense for a minute before he breathed in my scent and relaxed. “I-” He began but I cut him off.

“He’s my friend.” I said, “My friend who I made out with, cuddled with and last night we slept in the same bed.”

I felt him tense up so I continued, “I’ve never had s*x with him and I’m never going to. I’m yours now. And Xavier will only ever be my friend from my old pack.”

I let my words sink in and I felt his body relax under my touch and my words.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered into my chest. “I just couldn’t take it anymore.”

I released him from my hug hold and let him look me in the eyes. “Callan. I’m not going to lie to you and say there was never anyone. I’ve had men in my past but all of them became strictly friend-zoned the minute I laid eyes on you.”

“I’m realizing,” He said breathing in my scent, “That when it comes to you I’m very possessive.”

I sighed, “Well don’t be. Because I’m yours and only yours.” I felt something creep into my mind, “And are you mine?” I asked

He smiled and leaned forward till our lips touched. He kissed me deeply then pulled back, “Everything I am is yours. My life, my pack, even my very soul is yours.”

I felt like a weight had been lifted off my heart and I could feel the truth in his words. I brought my lips back to his and kissed him just as deeply.

I heard a small growl through our lips and felt my body getting warm. And I don’t think it was the difference in temperature.

I stripped off my fluffy white cardigan and threw it on the floor. I wouldn’t be needing that for a while.

Callan licked my bottom lip and I let him in while his hands made their way to my back and under my shirt. His hands were creeping up my sides when there was a knock at the door.

“I love this pack.” I laughed.

“Um, sorry to interrupt Alpha and Luna, but the Royal Prince and Princess are here.” Nes’s voice came from the other side of the door.

“That’s twice he’s interrupted me.” Callan growled under his breath.

I laughed again, “Tell them we’ll be right out.”

I heard a brief “Yes, Luna.” Before I heard his footsteps.

“He won’t like strike three.” Callan said angrily.

I leaned forward and kissed him again, “Then next time we’ll just ignore him. Even if the building's on fire.”

He chuckled and gave me a quick kiss, “Sounds good to me.”

After making sure we looked fine we walked out to a waiting Maya and William.

"We're sorry." Maya said when she saw me, "We didn't mean to interrupt."

William didn't apologize but had a look on his face. As if he was masking his emotions.

I sighed. I couldn't say anything with Nes or the twins around. I took a deep breath and tried to put on any sweetness I have. "Hey Nes, do you think you and the twins can do me a favor?"

"Anything Luna." Bobbie said, standing at attention.

"At your command, Luna." Robbie said, taking the same stance.

"I could really use some hot chocolate about now, mind getting Callan and I a cup? And while you're at it you can get his and her highness a cup as well." I asked.

"Yes ma'am." The twins said at the same time and each grabbed one of Nes's arms and dragged him out.

"Make sure they have marshmallows." I called. That could buy me a bit more time. Who knew how long they'd take?

"Honestly." Maya said, "You didn't have to do that."

"Why not? I thought I did good." I said disappointed.

Maya pointed behind me and I turned to see Callan clenching his jaw and his palms were bleeding.

"Callan!" I gasped, "Are you ok?"

"It's cause you were flirting with them?" Will said, not hiding his emotions anymore.

"I wasn't flirting with them." I countered.

"I have news for you Ray-Ray. It did look like you were flirting." Maya said, grabbing Will's hand, "But as your best friend I know what you were doing. You were trying to persuade them right?"

I nodded, "Yeah of course." I turned back to Callan, "Baby the only one I would ever flirt with is you. Honest." For emphasis, I put both my hands on his face.

I saw him visibly relax and I sighed in relief.

"Speaking of Honesty." William piped up.

I grabbed the back of Callan's hands. "That'll have to wait. I have to clean these."

Callan shook his head, "No it's fine my love. They'll be healed by the time you get back." I bit my lip and he led me to the love seat. "What did you want to talk about?"

I sat next to Callan and decided to speak first. "I have a feeling I know. Is it what the boys said this morning?" I asked.

William nodded but Maya spoke. "I tried to tell him to drop it but he won't. He's just as stubborn as you, Ray-Ray."

I nodded, I figured this was what it was and I was prepared to put it to bed. "Well like I said this morning it's not what you think. And since it'll probably come up again, cause their stupid, I figured I'll just tell you what did." I took a breath, "Besides I've already told Callan that there's nothing even close to romantic between Xavier and I. Just friendship."

I felt Callan’s hand tighten around mine. I laced my fingers with his and began rubbing circles into his palm to try to keep him calm.

"I was staying in Xavier’s suite with my own room and with every intention of using that room and no other, in less I found my mate that is." I began. "After our conversation, I was feeling down so I decided to go talk to Xavier. Physical affection has always been calming so we ended up making out. Alex barged in and I assume he thought we were having s*x. Which we weren't."

Maya groaned, "Yeah. He never did grasp the concept of a knock. Hopefully that taught him a lesson."

I kept rubbing circles because they seemed to be helping. "Xavier respected me when I said we needed to stop because I was waiting till I either found my mate or the week's trip ended. Like I said he respected me and I fell asleep watching a movie with him."

"That was during the party." Maya said, elbowing her mate lightly.

"Right. When I woke up the next morning I was laying in bed next to Xavier and Owen barged in and I suppose he thought we were doing something, which we weren't. In fact, I was so surprised to find Xavier lying next to me that I attacked him."

"Serves him right." Maya nodded approvingly. "I still have to ask him why he didn't just take you to your bed. But since he has a thing for you, I'd guess it's because he wanted to have you to himself a bit longer. Still not ok though."

I chuckled at her. "Probably."

I looked at Callan and he had that same mask on that he'd had in the limo. What could he be thinking?

Callan’s POV I don't like it. I don't like it.

Both I and Blaze hate the idea of her being alone with that low-class wanna-be Alpha. Even if he did like her he should have taken her to her room instead of making her look like that.

I tried to focus on her thumb rubbing circles on my hand. It had been so cute that she wanted to take care of my cuts but I could already feel them healing.

Will cleared his throat and I looked at him. He'd heard it all this morning and from the guys so I can understand his worry. I could see it in his face that he was worried about me and her possibly not being genuine.

Brief anger flared in me, my Raelynn not be genuine? Never.

But that did remind me that we'd only just met. We've known each other all of, maybe, ninety minutes. I'd have to remedy that.

"I'm sorry for doubting you." Will said, taking Maya’s hand. "Callan is my best friend and after last night I was worried you possibly not being here for a mate could break him."

"Like I told him, we both came to find our mates." Maya glared.

"And I'm sorry I didn't believe you too." He said leaning down and kissing her cheek. "I promise I'll believe everything you say in relation to your best friend."

Instead of finding their PDA nauseating like I did last night, I now found it sweet. My best friend was happy, and it seemed like he'd found a good one.

"Don't say that." Ray said, "Then she'll tell you all sorts of lies about me."

Will laughed and Maya glared at her friend, "Just for calling me a liar, I'll tell Callan about my blackmail."

"No!" Ray yelled but then covered her mouth. It was so cute.

"Do tell." I smirked.

"Don't you dare Maya or I'll tell William about the lake dare." She threatened.

Maya shut her mouth and made the motion of zipping it up, locking it, and throwing away the key.

"What lake dare?" Will asked. And I had to admit I was curious too.

"If she doesn't talk I won't divulge mine." Ray said, leaning into me.

"So is that all you had to talk about?" I asked her.

Ray nodded, "Oh Maya, get this. My Beta knows how to knock."

I loved the way she said 'my Beta' like she was already officially my Luna.

"Really?" Maya grinned.

"Is it really that big of a deal?" Will asked.

"You have no idea." Ray and Maya said at the same time.

It wasn't long before Nes and the twins got back with the hot chocolate. We spent a good half hour talking and laughing till Maya said she felt a bit tired so they were heading back.

I was anxious to get Raelynn back to our room to be able to have quality time getting to know each other when I heard my name.

"Oh and Callan." Maya called over her shoulder. "Be good to my best friend or I'll rip you apart. I don't care if you are an Alpha."

I smirked, like she could take me. "I'll be more than good to her."

Maya laughed and she left with Will.

Ray stood up, taking me with her, "We'll be going to rest too, see you guys later." But when she shut the door behind us she smacked my arm. "Don't embarrass me in front of Nes and the twins."

I grinned, "What did I say that embarrassed you?" I knew it had to be my comment about me being more than good to her. She blushed. So damn cute. I leaned forward and backed her up against the door. “Do you not want me to be good to you?”

She gulped and I heard her heart beating faster. “That’s…. That’s not….” She seemed to be having a hard time speaking. Perfect.

I leaned forward brushing my lips against her ear, “Do I make you nervous? You seem to be having a hard time talking.” I whispered darkly.

Her breath hitched, “Th-Then maybe…. Maybe we shouldn’t talk.”

I smiled and pressed my lips to her neck.
