Chapter 9Nearly five months had passed since Tim and Jake’s night together. True to his word, Jake did cut all contact with him. There were no more texts, calls, or unexpected visits from Jacob Thorn. And Tim held up his end of the bargain also by staying away from the man who’d been his best friend for so many years, even though it pained him to do so. But, as the days, weeks, and months bled into each other, the pain dissipated and he found himself becoming almost okay with not having Jake in his life anymore. He still missed the s****l encounters, but he really missed the friendship they’d had for so many years. He missed hanging out with Jake and talking about work and people they knew.
