Pitch Black

It's been a couple of days since we moved to Barden U and so far everyone is nice to us. Well everyone we meet in the campus that is. Jieun and I already saw our targets but we never engaged into any conversation with any of them. The other party also didn't even tried to.

We're currently at the room for a subject that I honestly don't care about. I don't even care what the teacher is saying. Like Jieun said, I can ace any subjects even if I don't pay attention to the class. One of the Bellas is sitting next to me and if I'm not mistaken, she's Jessica. I don't know her last name since I don't talk with any of the Bellas.

A student came knocking on the door, catching our prof's attention.

"Uhm, sorry to interrupt sir but Ms. Robins are looking for Lee HaEun and Lee JiEun? She said she wanna see them right away."

"Ah yes, of course. HaEun, JiEun you're both excused and can go now." Our prof smiled softly at us as he gave us the approval of leaving the room.

Everyone turned their gaze on us. JiEun and I exchanged looks and casually went out of the room after grabbing out stuffs and head down to Ms. Robins' office.

*Inside the office*

"You wanna see us, Ms. Robins?" I said after gently knocking the door before opening it slowly.

"Ah yes. Come in and make yourselves comfortable." We nodded and put down our bags beside us as we took a sit on the chairs in front of her desk across her.

"Sorry if I had to pull you out of the class without any advanced notice."

"Nah it's cool, Ma'am. Class is pretty making me and HaEun a bit sleepy anyways." Ms. Robins just chuckled at Jieun's statement.

"How's your stay at Barden U so far?" She started.

"It was great. The students we meet along the hallways and around the campus are nice to us." I said with a bit of a smile.

"That's good. Have you talked with any of the Bellas?"

I shook my head as a no. "None of the parties thought of engaging on a conversation with one another. And if you ask me, that's kinda better so that way they won't think something suspicious about us."

"Hmm." She hummed in response. "Well anyway, that is ought to change starting today cause I will be introducing you both to them in an hour. Your father and I talked about it and he said it's better that you guys are close to the girls so you can keep track of their activities in and out of the campus. So we made a decision to make you girls a part of the Barden Bellas effective today. They don't know it yet but I will have them called over in an hour. So go back to your dorm and pack your stuffs. You will be living with the Bellas from now on."

Aish. That old man making decisions on his own without even asking us for our opinion. Like there's anything we can still do. Once dad decides on something, you can't make him change his mind unless you engage with a long a*s debate with him which barely happens -,-

"Uhm Ms. Robins, I forgot to ask this during our first day here but how long are we gonna stay here at Barden?" I asked

"Just until Fat Amy's dad has been captured and the safety and security of the girls are secured. Basically just until they're threat free." I nodded and excused ourselves as we head back to our dorm.

"Can you believe it? We are going to be a part of the Barden Bellas!!" Jieun squealed in excitement.

"Don't get too happy, we're just being a part of the Bellas for their safety, so we can keep a close eye on them."

"Why do you have to be such a buzzkill, Y/N? That's what makes you a boring person." She pouted.

"I have to remind you that back in Korea, I was considered as the most awesome and coolest one between us according to our friends." I grinned.

"Do you really have to rub it in my face?" Jieun squinted her eyes at me causing me to laugh.

"If there is one thing we need to make sure aside from their safety, it's that we shouldn't get attached to them. Romantically or not. Well, I don't know about you but I'm setting that as my rule. You know how I handle goodbyes after being so attached to someone."

"Well, one of us should be closer to the girls so we won't come out as suspicious and blew up our covers." Jieun rebutted.

"Suit yourself. Come on, we have 15 minutes left before meeting them... Officially."

"All set. Let's gooooo~" she walked out of our old room carrying her luggage as I follow behind her carrying mine.

We arrived at Ms. Robins' office and the girls aren't here yet.

"Oh you're just in time! I just had my assistant student called them over. By the way, if the time comes that you will have to eventually meet the girls, how are you gonna do that?" She asked.

"We have pre-recorded holograms of our selves with our masks on and they will respond according to the questions the girls might ask them in the future. So if the girls wanna meet their masked guards, our holograms will be played." I briefly explained.

"But what if they wanna meet you in person? I mean the masked version of you two. How are you gonna do that? And probably without the mask."

I was about to answer when there's was a knock on the office door. Our attention turned towards the door as it slowly opened revealing the Bellas. Different expressions are obviously visible in their faces.

"Oh! Sorry to interrupt whatever you three are talking about but your assistant told us you wanna see the Bellas Ms. Robins...? So we uh, came here. We'll just wait out—"

"Oh! Ms. Posen, Bellas. Come in! I actually wanna talk to you girls about these twins. Chop chop." The girls gave each other a confused look but entered the office and shut the door behind them.

"Alright, so I called you girls over along with the Lee twins to formally introduce you to each other. Bellas, meet Lee HaEun and Lee Jieun. Our exchange students from Korea. HaEun, Jieun, they're are the Barden Bellas, Barden University's pride and joy. Girls please state your name one by one, please. Let's start it off with the leader of the Bellas."

"Hi, I'm Aubrey. The leader of Bellas. Welcome to BU!" Aubrey smiled warmly.

"Hi, you two. I'm Chloe. The assistant leader of the Bellas. I hope you guys are enjoying your stay here."

"Hey, I'm Beca.

"Emily."

"Stacie"

"Flo."

"Cynthia Rose."

"Fat Amy or Fat Patricia." Ah. The main target.

"Ashley."

"Jessica."

"Lilly"

"Uhmmm... Sorry but I couldn't hear what the last one said. What was your name again?"

I sighed. "She said her name is Lilly, JiEun."

"Wait what? How did you even heard that? She barely said anything. There's barely any sound coming out of her mouth."

"Not my fault you're deaf." I shrugged.

"You just happened to have sharper hearing than me." Jieun pouted.

"By the way, my name is Lee HaEun. Hannie will do." I slightly bowed.

"I'm Lee Jieun. But just call me IU. Its... Easier that way." She smiled at the girls.

"Duly noted." Aubrey said and smiled.

"Okay now that's been taken care of, I wanna talk to you girls about the Twins moving to your house." Ms. Robins butted in as soon as the introductions were finished. There was a bit of silence in the room.

"Aca-scuse me?" Aubrey said.

Aca-what? What did Aubrey just said?

"Yes, Ms. Posen. From now on, Lee HaEun and IU is now part of the Barden Bellas."

"Wait. We can't just let exchange students come join the Bellas without even auditioning. No offense you two." Aubrey protested.

"None taken, is that an offer?" I sarcastically said making the girls stiffle a laugh.

"Aubrey, come on, the more Bellas, the more our family will be bigger and more fun." Chloe said.

It took some convincing Aubrey before she finally agreed while me and Jieun just stayed quiet the whole time they were arguing.

"Alright then. Welcome to Bellas, ladies." Aubrey said.

"Cool" I plainly said.

We all left the office as we all head out to the Bella house. The new house that we will be living from now on.

IU is already having fun talking with the Bellas while I just stayed quiet eversince we left the office.

"Hey, you became quiet eversince we left the office. Are you okay?" I turned to the voice beside me and saw that it's Chloe.

"Oh. Yeah, yeah. Just... Y'know. Adjusting to the new place again. And new people around us."

"Yeah, we never talked eversince you two arrived here at Barden. Today is the first time we talked to you. By the way, I am so sorry for Aubrey's attitude earlier. That's just how she really is." Chloe apologized.

"Her attitude and actions somehow reminds me of military." I said

"That's because her father is a military officer. General to be exact. She kinda grew with the thought that her actions should be like a Military so she can't disappoint her dad."

"That explains it." I said.

"So... How high does your belt go?" Chloe asked, gaining my confused look

"My... My what?"

"I mean how high does your pitch go? Like your voice." She explained

"Oh. I don't sing." I lied. I do sing. I just don't like to show it off to other people.

"C'mon. Ms. Robins made you girls join the Bellas for a reason."

Yeah and that is to keep a close eye on the 11 of you. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Really. I don't sing. Jieun does though so you can go bug her about that question." I shrugged. Chloe just smiled.

"What are you smiling at?"

"I'll make you sing someday. I always do that to everyone. Even Beca. I walked in on her in the showers, we were both n***d that time and I convinced her to sing Titanium and audition for the Bellas and that's how she became an official Bella member." She smiled confidently.

"Dude... TMI. Too Much Information." I cringely said.

"You'll get used to it. Including the fact that I will make you sing someday." She kept her smile.

I just shook my head and focused on walking when I saw Beca looking at us and then looked away as soon as our eyes met.

Hmm. I wonder what was that all about.
