Tobias, Ivy and I stick together over the next few hours, and he spends his afternoon showing the two of us around the campus. Something about him puts me at ease, and his friendliness is undeniable, a refreshing change of pace. As he shows us the infirmary, the meeting room, and the complicated maze of corridors, libraries, and classrooms, I occasionally feel his gray eyes on me. All I can do is try to tell myself it doesn’t mean anything; he’s just being friendly. It’s not like I have much going for me, anyway. Meanwhile, Ivy continues to open up, and the relief at having found friends already is undeniable, especially after my conversation with the Master. The outstanding issue, of course, is Atlas. I can’t seem to figure him out, not even now that I know more about his background. One
