13 COMPLETELY UNFAIR As much as I wish I could say differently, without Jo, it was a rough night. No surprise. I don’t wake in a panic, but nightmares populated by brain-destroying fae plague me. Way too early, I force myself up and into the shower. I can’t take the chance of going back into one of those dreams. I hang out with Darcy until the sun comes up. I should be much more exhausted than I am. Maybe the nap I took after Jo and I…well. I guess that made up for it. When I finally feel it’s late enough, I head to the kitchen for much-needed coffee. Dex pushes the door open, and I duck under his arm before I realize what we are walking into. “I’m not getting any younger, Louis. What the hell are you waitin’ for? For God’s sake, I’m not gonna break. I’m made of tougher stuff than that
