15 FIGHT THE INSTINCT In the morning, I feel much better thanks to the pill letting me go back to sleep. Nicolet was gone when I woke. I guess she slipped out when she sensed my brain become aware. I hope she’s going to at least get a chance to feed before she has to be on duty. As I move around the suite taking care of Darcy and getting ready, I really feel good. In retrospect, I didn’t hurt nearly as much last night as I would have expected given all the dancing I did. Somehow, I got off easy. I’m looking forward to brunch with Emma and pull on a sundress for the occasion. The tag says it’s some kind of stretch cotton.
