When God told you to do something, irrespective of whatever it was going on in your life at that time, irrespective of how difficult or strange the request seemed, you made sure you dropped everything . . . and moved. Unfortunately for Father James, he did not get the memo on time, and so he kept going round and round in circles until it was almost too late. His case was like that of the proverbial son who asked for his share of his father’s property and went away to squander them, then seeing how stupid he was after filtering everything away, came back to beg. There was a slight twist between the proverbial son and Father James though. Father James never went back to his father to beg - he went to God instead by joining the priesthood and then sent word to his father who came to see him
