I did as Father James told me to, I went home and continued reading my Bible. When it was one in the afternoon, I left for St. Peter’s Cathedral, to the hall where father James said catechism would be held. I was practically the only one there except for one other person. I thought of father James, and as if my mind had conjured him, he appeared at the door and his eyes honed in on me. He walked towards me and looked at me from top to bottom.
