We were officially doomed - Jinxabell and I, at least by Maclaud high school standards. As we ate at the cafeteria table, all eyes were trained on us for a number of reasons; 1. We sat at the back, something the students hated and had ruled against, but we constantly defied that rule. Do I hear you asking if we were booed? They didn’t dare. 2. Jinxabel’s laughter was like a bell at the c***k of dawn; loud and clear. She would throw her head back and let out this delicious sound, exposing her long neck for all and sundry, but most importantly, for me. 3. Without fail, she would feed me food, and take a tiny bite herself. As a result, I always ended up eating one and a half plates of food -all of mine, and half of her’s. I honestly wondered how she wasn’t skinny. Good genes, maybe? 4.
