From time in memorial, the gossip mill has been a booming business. This was no different at Carlton University, for the moment I stepped inside it, I was thrown pitying looks from strangers, people I didn’t talk to as well as those I did. Those I had a rapport with, asked if I was okay, and when I replied in the affirmative, they went ahead and asked if there was something, anything, they could do for me, and when I shook my head, they left me with a pat on my shoulder and said I should get better. Get better? When was I sick? But I understood clearly. The stares didn’t let up, if anything they increased when I got into the auditorium for my lectures.
