The four hour journey from Maclaud to St. Lucia had made me tired. Add the mounting anxiety and excitement, then stir in a whole lot of traffic on the way, I wasn’t a very happy person by the time I finally arrived. With a medium sized suitcase I hefted and a carry on bag that weighed a ton and almost took off my right shoulder, I was short tempered and beat by the time I filled the form at the front desk of the hostel and collected my key card from the cherry female officer. She welcomed me to the off-campus Carlton male university hostel and said I would love my room, but most especially the view. I just grunted and began the trudge up the set of stairs.
